Fans were surprised to see Bryan Danielson win the AEW World Title in a title versus career match at All In. Wembley Stadium provided a perfect stage for that moment to take place, but Danielson showed up on Dynamite in Champagne, Illinois, just as he promised.

During the August 28 episode of AEW Dynamite, the Blackpool Combat Club’s AEW World Champion “The American Dragon” Bryan Danielson addressed his future. He stated very plainly after the pay-per-view that he didn’t know what he was going to do after winning the title in Wembley Stadium.

AEW waited until the final segment of the night for Bryan Danielson to come out to address fans. This happened after Ricochet’s singles debut against Kyle Fletcher.

Bryan Danielson said that he is finally World Champion after trying and failing so many times, and he did with over 50,000 people in Wembley Stadium. He also said that when he got to the back his daughter, Birdie, said “Daddy, this is the best day of my life.” Although the Peppa Pig double-decker tour bus may have played a part in that, Danielson knew that his AEW World Title win was the favorite moment of his entire career.

That brought a chant from the live crowd of, “Thank You, Bryan.” Then he brought up the fact that he doesn’t have a contract, he needs neck surgery, and his family is ready for him to go home. He brought up how he had a lot to think about since All In.

Danielson said he realized that it’s time for him to go home, “but not yet.” He said he will not retire as AEW Champion. He said he will fight for the championship as much as he possibly can. This received a very warm reception from the crowd, even though he confirmed that his full-time career will be over when he loses the title.

Then Bryan Danielson addressed All Out on September 7. He knows he has a championship to defend, and he said that it will be “first come first serve” to face him at All Out. That is when Jack Perry showed up on the screen with the TNT Championship around his waist. It didn’t take long for the former Jungle Boy to jump The American Dragon from behind. That seemed to set up Perry vs Danielson at All Out.

What’s your take on Bryan Danielson as AEW World Champion? Do you think that Tony Khan made the right call by taking the championship off Swerve Strickland? Let us know what you think in the comments section!
