Chris Jericho is most certainly a true veteran in the pro wrestling industry, whose career has spanned more than 30 years and he truly loves AEW no matter what. With that said, people are simply tired of him and now Tony Khan has defended booking Jericho for a match on Dynamite this week.
Chris Jericho has embraced ‘The Learning Tree’ gimmick. However, his current gimmick has been a point of contention among fans, as many people change the channel when they see him. This is despite the fact that Jericho has denied he has ‘go away’ heat.
During the 2024 edition of AEW All In, Chris Jericho put his FTW Championship against HOOK in a match widely panned by fans. In fact, many fans opted for a bathroom break during the match.
AEW President Tony Khan took to Twitter and booked a match for the August 28th edition of AEW Dynamite, which will see The Learning Tree faction and Roderick Strong square off against HOOK and the Conglomerate. Khan was instantly criticized for booking yet another Jericho match and he defended the match by telling fans to just trust him.
”Sometimes you just have to trust me. I expect this match to rock #AEWDynamite on TBS”
We will have to wait and see whether Tony Khan has something special planned for this Chris Jericho match, as fans are truly fed with Chris Jericho and want him gone from AEW television.
Here’s the current lineup for the August 28th episode of AEW Dynamite:
