In professional wrestling, the saying “never say never” often holds true, as wrestlers who fans thought would never return to WWE often do. A recent example is Jesse Ventura, who surprised everyone with an appearance backstage at RAW last month. In fact, it seems Ventura has agreed to sign a new deal with WWE.

Before the July 29 episode of WWE Raw, Triple H announced that Hall of Famer Jesse Ventura was in attendance at the event held at the Xcel Energy Center in Saint Paul, Minnesota. The commentary team pointed out Ventura’s presence during the show, with Michael Cole offering a warm welcome. WWE’s social media channels also acknowledged Ventura’s appearance, celebrating his presence at the event.

Following his appearance, Jesse Ventura took to social media and tagged CM Punk and noted that it seemed “hell froze over again” with his unexpected comeback.

While speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Jesse Ventura revealed that while he has not yet signed a contract, he has agreed to return to WWE. Ventura stated that his relationship with WWE has significantly improved and that they are on the brink of finalizing the deal, which only requires signatures from both parties. He noted that he wants to sign the agreement “fairly quickly.”

“My relationship with them now has much improved. We are on the verge right now. I can say this, contracts have been written, contracts have been agreed upon. And all it requires is two signatures, one from them, and one from me. And I will be back with the legends [deal],”

Ventura cited Vince McMahon’s departure from WWE as a key factor in his decision to return, indicating that the company’s recent merger with UFC has made WWE more open and corporate, which he finds more manageable. He contrasted this with the old days of wrestling, describing them as a time when wrestlers were treated like “slaves.”

“Yeah, very much so. I think that they’re very much more since they merged with the ultimate fighting [UFC] and they’re under that one roof now, they’re very much more mainstream corporate that you can deal with better because they’re more open. It isn’t having to tie into the old days of wrestling, for lack of a better term, slavery. Because, you know, in the old days of wrestling, you truly were slaves. I don’t know, I got a great compliment I heard the other day. Barry Bloom, my former agent, the one I introduced to Vince, I was the first wrestler that made Vince deal with an agent. And I heard Barry was on a podcast and said that all these contracts these guys are getting today, they owe Jesse Ventura a thank you. Because if it weren’t for him, they wouldn’t be getting them.”

CM Punk even revealed details of his conversation with Jesse Ventura last month. Nonetheless, it is great to see that Jesse Ventura will become a permanent member of WWE with a legends deal and fans couldn’t be happier about the fact.
