WWE NXT has been filmed from Orlando since its inception, but a significant change is on the horizon. The brand’s Performance Center was reportedly set to relocate to Las Vegas but it appears that’s not the case.
Wrestle Votes reported WWE’s Performance Center is going to relocate from their long-standing Orlando home to Las Vegas and the move will be taking place in the near future.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer claimed that the previous report regarding the establishment of a WWE Performance Center in Las Vegas, Nevada was correct. However, it remains unclear whether this new facility will replace the current WWE Performance Center in Orlando, FL, or if it will operate alongside it.
Bryan Alvarez, host of Wrestling Observer Live, added that the news of the new Performance Center was a surprise to many. According to his subscriber-only X-feed, “nobody had any idea this was coming,” and that “very few outside of the higher-ups were aware, and many on staff are said to be furious.”
However, Fightful Select reports that WWE has denied plans to move the Performance Center from Orlando to Las Vegas. WWE sources informed Fightful Select that this is incorrect. They clarified that Mark Shapiro did not announce such a move during any meeting.
Sources within WWE stated that they were unaware of any plans to relocate and were surprised by the speculation. Many at the WWE Performance Center noted the benefits of its current location, including its proximity to the main roster talent and the cost of living advantages for trainee talent in Orlando.
The UFC Apex, owned by WWE and UFC parent company TKO Group Holdings, was a potential site for the new WWE Performance Center in Las Vegas. Regardless, WWE doesn’t seem to have any plans on moving the Performance Center to Orlando and perhaps that’s for the best.
