Swerve Strickland rose above from being a mid-card attraction to becoming the top star in AEW. His rise was cemented at AEW Dynasty after he defeated Samoa Joe to become the new AEW World Champion.

The owner of Swerve’s house was riding a huge wave of momentum with Prince Nana by his side and putting down top challengers in his quest to become a credible World Champion for months.

However, Swerve Strickland’s impressive reign finally came to its demise at the 2024 AEW All-In event. He wrestled Bryan Danielson in a ‘Title vs Career’ match in front of over 50,000 fans in Wembley Stadium in London.

Strickland tasted defeat at the hands of The American Dragon, who put him down after a hard-fought battle and made him submit to the Lebell lock to become the new AEW World Champion. Despite such a huge loss, in a video posted on his X, Swerve Strickland can be seen in celebratory mode, surfing above the crowd at a party location and questioning who emerged as the real loser from the bout.

“”Who lost??”

It seemed like Swerve Strickland was not bothered by losing the AEW World Championship. This could mean that he already has some plans to win it back and end Bryan Danielson’s reign sooner rather than later. So we will have to wait and see, as this storyline might not have seen its end.
