WWE’s Intercontinental Champion, Bron Breakker, is proving to be a dominant force, continuing to impress with his boundless potential. After his victory over Sami Zayn at SummerSlam 2024 to claim the championship, Breakker has solidified his place as one of WWE’s rising stars. This achievement was a pivotal moment for the second-generation Superstar, but now the question is, who will be the next to challenge his reign.
During the August 26 episode of WWE RAW, the journey to find Breakker’s next contender began. The show featured two triple threat tournament matches, with The Miz taking on Xavier Woods and Pete Dunne, while Kofi Kingston squared off against Karrion Kross and Jey Uso. The competition is heating up as WWE looks to crown the next challenger for Breakker’s Intercontinental Championship.
Jey Uso made his entrance first, and he even had Corey Graves yeeting. Graves is taking over for Pat McAfee on the red brand after the former NFL punter had to take off due to football obligations.
The winner of this match would go on to compete in a winner take all fatal four-way match to determine who will face Breakker next. Kofi, Karrion, and Uce started this match off with a lot of intensity and the crowd seemed invested in the contest.
This match provided each competitor to show off a bit, as even Karrion Kross got the upperhand throughout. His attempt to make Kofi Kingston submit was countered into a pinning attempt. Then Jey Uso got involved and landed a spear on Kross before he climbed to the top rope.
Uce nailed an Uso Splash on Karrion Kross after that, and he won the match. Now Jey Uso will go on to join the fatal 4-way for the IC #1 contender match. This could be the start of a big run for Uso, but he has two big matches ahead of him if he wants to pull down the gold.
