AEW All In 2024 saw several title changes, including Hook reclaiming the FTW Title from Chris Jericho in a high-stakes, weapon-laden contest. Despite the dramatic shift in the championship landscape, Tony Khan felt the need to clarify the status of the FTW Title during the press conference.

The FTW Title, or “F*ck The World” Championship, was originally created by Taz in 1998 during his tenure with ECW. Designed as a personal championship to showcase Taz’s dominance, it was not officially sanctioned by ECW, but quickly gained recognition due to its unique presentation and Taz’s compelling persona. After ECW’s closure, the FTW Title was retired but was later revived in AEW in 2020. Despite the fact that it gets a nice spotlight, the title is still non-sanctioned in All Elite Wrestling.

When a question was raised about the FTW Title being perceived as a joke, Tony Khan swiftly addressed the issue. He stated that this was not the intention at all. In fact, TK wanted to elevate the title as he placed it in an important spot on the card.

“It wasn’t a joke or an insult. I brought it in as a really important part of the company, it wasn’t a joke or an insult. Taz didn’t bring it in as an insult at all. He brought it in to represent someone who was the top pushed heel against the strongest booked best wrestler in the world at the time, which is and was Jon Moxley.”

Khan emphasized that the FTW Title, while not officially recognized by the company, has always been valued. He pointed out that Brian Cage, who held the title previously, was built up as a major champion, defeating many top stars. The FTW Title was never intended to be a joke; it was meant to be taken seriously.

With Hook now holding the title once again and standing as one of AEW’s top stars, the future of the FTW Title will continue to be significant. AEW remains committed to treating the title with the respect it deserves.
