Swerve Strickland’s ascent in AEW has been remarkable, highlighting his outstanding in-ring skills and captivating charisma. As the current AEW World Champion, he shoulders a lot of responsibilities and now it appears he has signed a contract extension with AEW.

Earlier this week, Swerve Strickland described winning the AEW World Championship as the second phase of his career since joining the promotion in 2022. He also mentioned that, given his position as one of AEW’s top stars, he was in the process of renegotiating his current contract with the company.

“I have always said that winning the AEW World Championship is like Phase 2. That was the beginning of Phase 2 of my career … right now, I am … in the mid stuff like the renegotiation stage .. I’m really enjoying my status here in AEW.”

During the Zero Hour pre-show at AEW All In, it was announced that Swerve Strickland signed a contract extension with AEW. The signing was confirmed in a segment where Strickland, Prince Nana, and Tony Khan were seen together as Strickland signed his new deal. The moment was celebrated with a photo op and a brief celebration.
