Since his departure from WWE after WrestleMania 39, Shane McMahon has kept a low profile in the wrestling scene. However, rumors of him possibly joining AEW have been gaining momentum, particularly after a significant meeting between McMahon and AEW CEO Tony Khan. Some now believe that his debut at AEW All In could be one of the biggest moments in AEW history.

On July 29, 2024, Khan and McMahon held private meeting at an office in Arlington airport. This was their first direct discussion, despite Khan’s previous interest in connecting with McMahon. The meeting reportedly focused on exploring potential collaborative opportunities, which has led to rumors about McMahon’s possible future role in AEW.

While speaking on his Behind The Turnbuckle podcast, Jonathan Coachman talked about the possibility of Shane McMahon making his debut in AEW at All In London. As a former Interim RAW General Manager, Coachman emphasized that every major entertainment company, especially in pro wrestling, needs big moments to draw in viewers. He suggested that if Shane were to appear at All In London, it could be the biggest moment in AEW’s history.

Coachman noted that major events like WrestleMania often feature celebrities and special attractions to boost viewership, and a surprise appearance by Shane McMahon could have a similar impact for AEW. He pointed out the fact that Shane and his father, Vince McMahon, haven’t been seen together in years, and Shane’s potential move to a rival promotion like AEW under Tony Khan could not only generate an enormous reaction but also lead to significant fallout in the wrestling world.

“Every big entertainment organization, especially pro wrestling, you need moments. You need reasons for people to watch your biggest events. That’s why WrestleMania has so many celebrities and all these different things, to get everybody to watch. Tommy, this would be one of the biggest moments, maybe the biggest moment in AEW history if they could convince Shane McMahon, who as we know, we haven’t seen him with his father in the same place in years. He came and went when you and I were there all the time. And for him to go to a rival with Tony Khan the fanboy, boy, I cannot even imagine not just him showing up and that pop, but the fallout afterwards.”

Internally, WWE also expects Shane McMahon to appear on AEW programming at least once. Nonetheless, we will have to wait and see whether Shane McMahon will end up debuting at AEW All In this week, as fans would love to see it happen.
