AEW brought All In to Wembley Stadium, and the entire night built toward a monumental main event. There was far more at stake than just a title belt in that final match, with both competitors giving it their all in the ring.

At AEW All In, Swerve Strickland defended the AEW World Championship against Bryan Danielson. The stakes were incredibly high, as a loss would mark the end of Danielson’s in-ring career. At the time, Danielson was not under an active AEW contract and had revealed that he hadn’t received any offers from other wrestling promotions since his contract expired.

Danielson, a former WWE Champion, faced a crucial turning point in his career at Wembley Stadium, where the outcome would not only decide the championship but also determine whether Danielson would continue his wrestling career.

Swerve Strickland entered the match as the reigning AEW World Champion, having claimed the title from Samoa Joe on April 21, 2024, at Dynasty in St. Louis, MO. This match was a pivotal moment for both competitors, with the championship and Danielson’s future hanging in the balance.

Danielson made a grand entrance with his iconic Final Countdown music, a significant expense for Tony Khan each time it’s played. Brie Garcia, along with their children Birdie and Buddy, were ringside, while Strickland was accompanied by a live rap performance of his theme song.

Jim Ross joined the commentary team for this high-profile match, reminiscing about his past offer to Bryan Danielson from WWE. The match began with a back-and-forth exchange of moves, eventually giving Strickland a period of dominance as Danielson absorbed some severe punishment.

At one point, Prince Nana placed the ring bell on the apron, allowing Swerve to execute a neckbreaker on Bryan onto the bell, unseen by the referee. By this stage, Bryan was bleeding profusely from his forehead. Strickland taunted, questioning why he would want to inflict such pain in front of his family.

The brutality escalated as Swerve stomped on Danielson in front of his ringside family. With Danielson bleeding heavily, Swerve placed him on the top turnbuckle and executed a superplex.

Despite the punishment, Danielson mounted a comeback with a series of roundhouse kicks. The action moved back to the top rope, where Bryan hit a move for a near fall. Swerve then performed a top-rope double stomp for a two count after evading a medical intervention by Doctor Michael Samson, who was chased away by Strickland.

Swerve landed a House Call and waited for Danielson to rise, delivering another one for a near fall that elicited a massive crowd reaction. Danielson then no-sold Swerve’s kicks, firing back with his own and attempting a triangle choke, which Swerve blocked before being hit with a suplex.

As Danielson’s children cheered wildly at ringside and the crowd chanted “Yes,” Bryan executed a Psycho Knee, which Strickland shockingly no-sold. Swerve followed with a kick and Big Pressure for a two count, leaving him visibly stunned.

Hangman Page then appeared at ringside, disrupting Strickland’s entourage, including Prince Nana. Security intervened, but the distraction allowed Danielson to land another Psycho Knee for a near fall. The match intensified with both wrestlers trading forearm shots that escalated into headbutts.

In a dramatic turn, Bryan Danielson hit a sudden Psycho Knee and then hyped himself up as Swerve struggled to get to his feet. Danielson followed with a dropkick and locked in the LeBell Lock. Despite Strickland’s resistance, Danielson secured the hold, forcing Swerve to tap out. AEW All In concluded with Bryan Danielson claiming the AEW World Title from Swerve Strickland.

What’s next for AEW after this dramatic main event? The story isn’t over yet, and it will be intriguing to see if Tony Khan can build on this momentum.
