Ronda Rousey left WWE after her bout against Shayna Baszler at SummerSlam last year, but Rousey never tapped out during her matches at all. In fact, Rousey has now revealed why that was the case.

Ronda Rousey had two notable runs in WWE, excelling in the women’s division during both. Her first run is often praised more by critics and fans compared to her final stint with the company. Remarkably, throughout both runs, she never tapped out to any opponent.

While speaking to Ring the Belle, Ronda Rousey revealed that she chose not to tap out in any match because she wanted to reserve that moment for a special occasion, like her final WWE match against Shayna Baszler at SummerSlam 2023.

Rousey mentioned that tapping out was something she wanted to save for a significant moment, and despite never tapping out in real life, she did not even tap out to Baszler. While she was willing to lose by pinfall, she felt strongly about preserving the tap-out for a memorable event.

“I’m not tapping out because my mom would disown me (…) I’ve never tapped out in real life. So, I saved that. I actually didn’t even tap out to Shayna [Baszler] when I went out. The only person that ever submits me, I wanted to save it for Shayna, but pins? I don’t care.”

Ronda Rousey defended her controversial ‘wrestling is fake’ remarks and also revealed the reason for her WWE exit. Nonetheless, we’ll have to see what’s next in store for Rousey as she has plenty of options right now.
