Malakai Black has been a standout figure in AEW for three years now and has seen success as a member of The House of Black. With that said, it appears Black is set to make his acting debut in an upcoming horror movie.
Malakai Black recently took to Instagram to share a significant career update with his followers. The former NXT Champion announced that he will be making his acting debut, portraying a character named Lar in an upcoming film titled ‘The Awoken.’
The movie, penned by Danny Mattier and directed by Michael Thyer, is being produced by Blue Cicada Films and appears to be a horror-thriller set in an after-hours bar. Filming began a few days ago in Youngstown, Ohio.

The House of Black were accused of being troublemakers but they are currently set to take part in a four-way ladder match for the AEW Trios Championships at All In on August 25, so Black has that to focus on first before his upcoming movie. Regardless, we’ll have to see how Black’s acting debut will turn out in the end.
