John Cena is currently a bona fide star in Hollywood and he has made a name for himself in Tinseltown for good reason. With that said, Eric André was concussed and sent to the hospital after John Cena threw him through a shelf.
Over six seasons of The Eric Andre Show, comedian Eric André has suffered various injuries. In this week’s issue of PEOPLE, Eric André recalls a notable incident from season 5.
During an episode where John Cena threw him through a shelf, Andre initially made it through the stunt unscathed. However, because they forgot to sandbag the shelf’s metal frame, it tipped over and struck him in the head, resulting in a concussion and a hospital visit.
“It’s pretty common. I got through the shelf okay, but we forgot to sandbag the shelf — the frame of the shelf — so the metal frame tipped over and knocked me in the head. I got a concussion and went to the hospital.”
John Cena also channelled his inner Gen Alpha in order to promote his film ‘Jackpot.’ Nevertheless, accidents can happen anywhere and Eric André is more than aware of that after getting concussed.
