Darby Allin Accuses Jack Perry of Going Into Business for Himself at AEW All In 2023

The backstage incident between CM Punk and Jack Perry at AEW All In 2023 stands out as one of the most significant events in recent wrestling history. Not only did it set the stage for Punk’s much-anticipated return to WWE, but it also continues to shape the on-screen character of Jack Perry, formerly known as Jungle Boy.

The altercation was widely criticized within the wrestling community, including by several of their AEW colleagues. Among those who voiced their disapproval was Darby Allin, who is slated to face Perry for the TNT Championship in a coffin match at Wembley Stadium—the same venue where the incident took place a year earlier.

While speaking with Kenny McIntosh of Inside The Ropes, Darby Allin didn’t hold back his frustration with Perry, labeling him as “ungrateful” for his actions at last year’s event. Allin expressed his annoyance, emphasizing that he’s not hesitant to channel those feelings into his current storyline.

Allin pointed out how frustrating it was to see Perry go “into business for himself” in front of over 80,000 fans, a rare opportunity that many would never experience. Allin believes that Perry’s behavior was not only selfish but also disrespectful to those who would have cherished such an opportunity.

”I think the best thing is when you can bring stuff that you are actually passionate about, and the fact that he did what he did last year was annoying. It was super annoying because you think of 80,000 plus fans, and then you’re gonna go into business for yourself.

There’s literally people that would die for that opportunity, people that will never get to ever do that, and then you’re more focused on that. So of course I would bring that in because that p*ssed me off. It p*ssed off a lot of people. It’s just ungrateful.”

We’ll have to wait and see if Darby Allin can defeat Jack Perry for the TNT Championship at AEW All In this week and reclaim the title. It’s been quite a while since Allin last held a singles championship in AEW, making this a highly anticipated match.
