Why WWE Tag Titles Are Not Being Defended at Premium Live Events

WWE has been on a roll for over two years now and they are trying to ensure that each title in the company means something. However, fans have noticed that the tag team titles are rarely defended at Premium Live Events and the reason for that has been revealed.

Finn Balor and JD McDonagh have been the WWE Tag Team Champions for over month now and they are proud of their accomplishment. The Bloodline also became the tag champions on Friday Night SmackDown earlier this month for good measure.

However, neither of the tag team titles have been defended on Premium Live Events despite the fact that they have seen title defenses on WWE television and this has puzzled fans.

According to PWN, the plan is to have Tag Team Championships defended at Premium Live Events, but WWE wants to ensure the feuds are properly developed before making this happen. Premium Live Events are reserved for high-profile storylines that drive the television shows, so the tag team division is still being developed to meet these standards.

”Regarding Tag Team Championships being defended on PLE’s – I’m told it’s coming, but they want the feuds to be built up correctly for it to happen. PLE’s are for the highest caliber feuds which carry the TV shows, so it’s more of a work in progress for the tag team scene as of late.”

WWE Bash in Berlin will be taking place on August 31st and neither of the tag team titles are on the line at the Premium Live Event. We’ll have to wait and see when WWE will finally decide to feature the tag titles on Premium Live Events, as fans feel the titles deserve more respect.
