Tessa Blanchard made history in 2020 as TNA’s first female World Champion, but her groundbreaking tenure was abruptly cut short when she left the company in June of that year amid serious allegations of bullying and racism.
Since leaving TNA, Blanchard has stayed active on the independent wrestling scene, particularly in Mexico, where she has worked with promotions like CMLL and AAA. She currently holds the CMLL World Women’s Tag Team Championship alongside Lluvia, having defeated Persephone and Zeuxis on the August 6, 2024, show.
During a recent interview on Straight Talk Wrestling, Blanchard stated that she had been in discussions with other wrestling promotions but was hesitant to return unless it felt right for her.
“I’ve talked to some other companies recently, but it hasn’t felt right yet to go back. One thing I promised myself is that it doesn’t matter about the money or anything else—if it doesn’t feel right, I’m not going to do it.”
While there have been reports that TNA held internal discussions about bringing her back, and now Tessa Blanchard has confirmed talks with promotions, her joining a major wrestling organization remains to be seen.
