John Cena is currently a bona fide star in Hollywood but it was not an easy road for Cena, as he had to act in several Box Office duds as well. In fact, Cena has now admitted that filming an intimate scene with Amy Schumer was simply the worst thing for him.

While speaking to Club Shay Shay, John Cena talked about his experience working with Amy Schumer on the 2015 comedy Trainwreck. In the film, Cena played Schumer’s boyfriend, and their roles included filming a comedic sex scene.

Cena praised Schumer for creating a comfortable atmosphere on set. However, he was taken aback when he learned the details of the scene. He was informed that the scene would involve elaborate and comedic stunt work, and that much of the dialogue he had prepared would not be used. Instead, the focus was on creating an exaggerated, awkward sex scene.

“Amy is an angel, she made the environment so comfortable, and then when I got the part, eventually they were like, ‘Yeah, it’s a sex scene. We want you to do elaborate and crazy stunt sex, and all those lines you had? We’re probably not going to use them, we’re just going to do this stunt sex scene.”

Cena admitted that filming such a scene was more difficult than it might seem. He explained that while viewers might think it’s just the actors on set, there is actually a large crew involved.

Cena noted the presence of many people, including those working on catering and sound, which made the situation far from intimate. Cena found the process quite embarrassing, particularly because the scene was meant to be comedic and awkward, emphasizing how different it is from what people might expect.

“Oh my God, it’s the worst. This is the thing — right now, you guys at home think it’s just us. No, there’s a whole f—ing world back here.

“This is like a great production. But dude, man, catering was right there, and the sound tent was right there,” he added. “There are so many people you need to make a movie. There is nothing intimate about it. Nothing. So it’s real embarrassing, and on top of that, to do a comedic sex scene when you’re making fun of yourself— they were literally like, ‘Try to have the most awkward sex you possibly can.’ “

“And with an audience watching that, it’s different,” he said. “I don’t want to say it sucks. It’s just different than you all think it is.”

In the meantime, John Cena has also addressed possibly returning to the ‘Fast & Furious’ franchise. Nevertheless, Cena will always find his experience with Amy Schumer to be awkward when it comes to the intimate scene and that’s never changing.
