Jim Ross has dedicated decades of his life to the business and remains an integral part of AEW. However, he has been plagued with health issues for a while now and he has hit back at fans who complain about him looking old in AEW.
Recently, the WWE Hall of Famer was dealing with health issues, including visit to the ER. Regarding this health episode, Jim Ross later confirmed that he had a respiratory infection, which caused shortness of breath, but he managed to recover. He would then undergo surgery for his wrist.
Jim Ross is obviously getting old and he isn’t as active as he once was, but he still tries his best whenever he is on commentary. In fact, Ross confirmed he would be calling Swerve Strickland and Bryan Danielson’s match at AEW All In on August 25th.
While speaking on his Grilling JR podcast, Jim Ross talked about his upcoming appearance at AEW All In and appreciated Tony Khan for having faith in him. Ross also hit back at people who complain about him looking old and would say the same during All In. Ross made it clear that he is old and there’s nothing remarkable about that fact.
“I appreciate Tony Khan having the faith in me to bring me over. I’m sure there’ll also be plenty of people watching who’ll say, ‘Boy, JR looks old.’ Hey, guess what, Einstein—I am old! What the f*** do you want? So, I’m being a little bit of a turd, but anyway, it should be a classic.”
Nonetheless, Jim Ross is more than happy to be calling the action at AEW All In on August 25th, so we will have to wait and see how he will perform in his role at the pay-per-view.
