Triple H has guided WWE into a remarkable period, with the company setting records left and right. However, not everyone thrived under his leadership; notably, Jinder Mahal’s career did not flourish as expected under his booking.

Raj Dhesi, better known to fans as former WWE star Jinder Mahal, is now a free agent. He appeared on Talk Is Jericho to discuss his WWE career and his future prospects.

During his final WWE stint, Jinder Mahal was informed he was no longer an active wrestler. Instead, he was reassigned as a manager for Indus Sher—a decision made under Triple H’s leadership.

Regarding his relationship with Vince McMahon, Jinder Mahal shared that the former Chairman had significant confidence in him. Although he did not directly criticize Triple H or his booking decisions, Mahal made it clear that McMahon had him featured prominently and often.

“Relationship-wise, confidence-wise, trust-wise, trust is a big thing with Vince. He really trusted me a lot after that (being WWE Champion) in any situation, not just like main events, but also in anything he would put me in, like some comedy skits, you know, the 24/7 championship with R-Truth. I won the United States Championship at WrestleMania 34. That was a cool moment. With Vince, I was always on the show. I might not be in a top spot, I might be putting someone over, but I was always on all the time. I was on Live Events year round. I was booked a lot when Vince was in charge.”

After his WWE release, Jinder Mahal transitioned to the indie circuit and even secured a championship title. With plenty of ambition and energy left, he shows no signs of slowing down. Time will reveal what the Modern Day Maharaja will accomplish next.

We’ll continue to monitor Jinder Mahal’s career for updates. With his current free-agent status, he could potentially make appearances in various promotions. Tony Khan, for instance, is likely aware of the former WWE Champion’s availability, though he recently signed an impressive multi-year deal with Ricochet, which might affect how he approaches future signings.

What’s your opinion on Jinder Mahal’s WWE tenure? Do you believe Triple H had valid reasons for not booking him more prominently? Share your thoughts in the comments!
