Paul Heyman, known for his legendary role as a manager and advocate for some of wrestling’s biggest stars, recently shared his deep admiration for WWE’s Chief Content Officer, Paul “Triple H” Levesque, during an interview with “Notsam Wrestling.”
While the term “Paul Heyman Guy” has been used to describe the wrestlers Heyman managed, he revealed that he, too, has his own guiding figures in the industry—and Triple H is one of them.
Heyman recalled his first encounter with Levesque, which took place backstage during one of ECW’s appearances on “WWE RAW.” The two had a conversation about Levesque’s trainer, the legendary Killer Kowalski, and Heyman was immediately impressed by the young wrestler’s vision for the future of the business.
“The vision that he had, that as much as ‘I love the past and I’m grounded in the rudimentary and fundamental ways of the business, we got to push it forward;’ even back then, in ’97, I was like ‘Wow, this guy has his finger on the pulse of the future,'” Heyman said.
Heyman went on to describe his current experience working alongside Levesque in WWE today, calling it an absolute honor. He praised Triple H for being a true collaborator, someone who listens to the ideas of those around him, synthesizes the best contributions, and integrates them seamlessly into the overall vision for WWE’s television shows and premium live events.
“That level of collaboration at the top? I don’t know anybody in the history of this industry that does it as well as Paul Levesque,” Heyman proclaimed.
Paul Heyman’s admiration for Triple H shines a spotlight on the respect and trust that exists between two of WWE’s most influential minds. As Heyman reflects on their history and their current collaboration, it’s clear that Triple H’s vision and leadership continue to drive WWE forward.
