Johnny Gargano was regarded as the heart and soul of NXT thanks to his solid run from 2016 to 2020, but he ultimately left the company in 2021. He returned back in 2022 and has now revealed a very interesting text regarding his shocking return.
In December 2021, as Johnny Gargano’s contract was approaching its end, he decided not to renew it. Johnny Gargano would then make a surprise return to WWE on RAW back in August 2022 and he has been a fixture of the main roster since then.
On the two-year anniversary of Johnny Gargano’s shocking return on Monday Night RAW, the former WWE Tag Team Champion took to Twitter and revealed how he was hiding in the Raptors locker room.
”2 years ago today, I was hiding in the Raptors locker room, waiting to return to @WWE . Only a handful of people knew I was in the building. Genuine surprises are rare in this day & age, but I’ll always be proud we were able to create such a cool moment!”
That’s not all as Johnny Gargano also provided a screenshot of the texts he sent Tommaso Ciampa regarding his surprising return two years ago. This included Ciampa joking that he would have leaked Gargano’s surprise return before asking him if he was at the arena yet.
Regardless, Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa remain fixtures of Friday Night SmackDown and fans couldn’t be happier to see the duo put on solid matches every week whenever possible.
