Chris Jericho is most certainly a true veteran in the pro wrestling industry, whose career has spanned more than 30 years and he truly loves AEW no matter what. He has helped many stars in his career and it appears he also takes credit for putting the spotlight on Cody Rhodes.

Le Champion has faced off against numerous foes over the course of his run in AEW. Jericho has never failed to put over talent such as MJF, Orange Cassidy, Action Andretti and more. He has lost to all of the above talent and more, as Jericho wants to build up talent for the future.

One of the very first feuds Jericho had in AEW was with Cody Rhodes, which culminated in a match for the AEW World Championship. Jericho would ultimately prevail and Rhodes never got to challenge for the AEW World Championship.

While speaking to TV Insider, Chris Jericho expressed his pride in using what he calls the “Jericho Vortex” as a positive force in wrestling. He acknowledged that not every feud or storyline will be successful, but in AEW, he believes that about 90% of the stories and opponents he’s worked with have turned out well.

Jericho’s involvement in AEW dates back to the early days, working with wrestlers like Darby Allin, Orange Cassidy, Jack Perry, and Scorpio Sky. Jericho stated that Cody Rhodes wasn’t the star he is today when he first joined AEW, describing him as a journeyman who evolved into one of AEW’s top talents, a transformation that Jericho believes he played a significant role in by shining a spotlight on him.

“I love using the Jericho Vortex as a positive thing. Not every single feud or story you tell in wrestling will work, but I have to say in AEW that 90% of the guys I’ve worked with and stories told have been pretty good. That goes back to day one. I think I worked with Darby Allin in week three without knowing who he was. Orange Cassidy, Jack Perry, Scorpio Sky and beyond that. Even Cody Rhodes. Cody was not who he is now. He was a guy who had been a journeyman and then became one of the top guys in AEW. He was earmarked to be, but I did a lot to put a spotlight on him.”

Chris Jericho also denies claims of ever having ‘go away’ heat in AEW. Regardless, it remains to be seen whether fans will agree with what Jericho had to say about putting the spotlight on Cody Rhodes and helping him become the megastar that he is today in WWE.
