WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan’s contributions to the world of professional wrestling need no introductions, as he is truly larger than life. With that said, there were talks of Chris Hemsworth starring as The Hulkster in a biopic, but it has now been scrapped.
Chris Hemsworth was cast to portray Hulk Hogan in an upcoming biopic about the WWE Hall of Famer’s career. Hemsworth had been significantly bulking up for the role, but fans became uncertain about the film’s future.
WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff was set to be a producer, with Todd Phillips, Scott Silver, and John Pollono working as co-writers. However, concerns arose among fans when Chris Hemsworth admitted earlier last year that he was unclear about the current status of the biopic.
The biopic had been in development since 2019, with Todd Phillips, known for directing “Joker,” originally set to direct. However, in a recent interview with Variety before the release of “Joker: Folie à Deux,” Phillips confirmed that the project is no longer happening.
”I love what we were trying to do, but that’s not going to come together for me.”
This is certainly unfortunate news for fans of the Hulkster who were eagerly waiting for the biopic to release one day. Regardless, fans can look forward to ‘Killing Gawker‘ and that’s all they have to focus on now.
What’s your opinion on this unfortunate news? Are you disappointed the Hulk Hogan biopic will never happen? Sound off in the comments!
