Darby Allin seems to thrive on taking punishment, earning comparisons to a human demolition derby. That’s why it comes as no surprise that he’s set to compete in a Coffin match at AEW All In. Allin has now revealed the reason behind his desire for this particular match.

In recent months, Darby Allin has been involved in a heated feud with TNT Champion Jack Perry and his faction in The Elite. The Elite defeated Allin and Team AEW in the Anarchy in the Arena match at AEW Double or Nothing. However, Allin and a revamped Team AEW struck back by winning a Blood & Guts Match against The Elite. At AEW All In, Allin will face Perry for the TNT Championship in a Coffin Match.

In a recent appearance on K&C Masterpiece, Allin talked about his upcoming bout with Perry and the significance of the Coffin Match stipulation. He emphasized that the Coffin Match is a fitting climax to their rivalry, given their previous confrontations.

Allin revealed his frustration with Perry, describing him as someone who takes things for granted and doesn’t show up for work. He noted that after already setting Perry on fire and competing in a brutal cage match, the Coffin Match is the logical next step to conclude their feud. Allin made it clear that he wants to end this chapter at Wembley rather than drag the rivalry out for a year.

”Pro wrestlers are their best when they’re themselves turned up to ten, and now he’s himself, which is a child [laughs]. He takes everything for granted. He never shows up to work. Come on, man. The Coffin Match, everybody’s like, ‘Why is it a Coffin Match? Why so extreme?’ I set the guy on fire [laughs]. We’re gonna go to Wembley, we’re gonna lock up and have a good-old match? No, man. I’ve already set the guy on fire, we’ve had this bloody cage match. There’s only one place to go from there, and that’s the Coffin Match. That’s the end-all, be-all. I don’t want a whole year feud with Jack. I want to end it at Wembley.”

We will have to wait and see whether Darby Allin will be able to defeat Jack Perry for the TNT Championship at AEW All In this week and finally become the TNT Champion again, as it’s been far too long since Allin won a singles championship in AEW.
