Pat McAfee, known for his dynamic commentary in WWE, has become a fan-favorite for his energetic and unique approach to calling the action inside the ring. .

Recently, McAfee confirmed that he would be taking a break from his role as a commentator on WWE RAW due to his commitments with ESPN College GameDay, which kicks off this week.

During the August 19 episode of RAW, McAfee also made a special announcement, revealing that he would be hosting the first episode of the upcoming College GameDay season live from Dublin, Ireland.

As the night progressed, in an untelevised moment during the televised programming, Pat McAfee stood up on the announcer’s desk to address his hiatus. McAfee bid short farewell to the WWE Universe and revealed that he would be away from WWE for about 4 months or so.

“Tonight will actually be my last RAW for about 4 months or so.”

Pat McAfee then led a huge thank you chant with the fans for the WWE ring crew, camera guys, backstage personnel and most importantly, his broadcast colleague, Michael Cole, calling it a dream come true to work alongside a legend like him. Later as the broadcast came on air, Michael Cole confirmed that McAfee will be back in January 2025, which McAfee also confirmed.

As McAfee prepares to step away from his WWE duties, there is growing anticipation about who will fill his role on the RAW commentary team alongside Michael Cole during his absence.
