Pat McAfee, known for his energetic presence in WWE, made his return to WWE programming earlier this year. With that said, he has confirmed he will be taking a break from his WWE duties as ESPN’s College GameDay begins this week.
The former NFL punter secured a significant contract with ESPN, a major milestone for him. However, there was some uncertainty among fans about his participation in ESPN’s College GameDay this year.
Pat McAfee then confirmed that he will be returning to College GameDay. He expressed his excitement for the August 24th return and his goal of contributing to what he hopes will be the greatest year in college football history.
Pat McAfee took to his Instagram story and uploaded a video, confirming that tonight’s appearance on WWE RAW will be his last for a while, as he prepares for the upcoming football season. He expressed his disappointment about stepping away, acknowledging his strong connection with the WWE family and hoping that his absence will be felt by both WWE and himself.
“Tonight will be my last trip to that wonderful WWE family for a while, I’m bummed out. Football season is starting which is awesome but the WWE family is where I’m supposed to be, I know that and I hope they do too.”
We’ll have to wait and see how Pat McAfee performs in his upcoming role with ESPN’s College GameDay. There’s no doubt that fans will miss his presence alongside Michael Cole in the Monday Night RAW commentary booth once he departs.
