Bryan Danielson is nearing the end of his full-time professional wrestling career, a journey that has spanned decades and left a significant mark on the industry. As he approaches this transition, Danielson has made it clear that his immediate priority will be taking care of his body, particularly his neck, which has endured substantial wear and tear over the years.

In a recent interview with Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp ahead of AEW All In 2024, Danielson discussed his post-wrestling plans and the conversations he’s had with AEW President Tony Khan about his future role in the company. Danielson emphasized that his first order of business after stepping away from full-time competition will be addressing his neck issues, likely involving surgery.

“Tony and I have talked. I’ll always pick up the phone when he calls if I’m by my phone. For example, he called me last night; it was 9:30 Pacific time, and I was already asleep,” Danielson said. “The first thing I’ll have to do when I’m done wrestling, the thing that is in my priority is to get my neck better, which probably involves some sort of neck surgery sooner rather than later. That will be my first order of business. Then, I’ll help AEW where I can. I love AEW. I want to help as much as I can, and as much as they want my help, I’m willing to participate.”

Tony Khan has previously expressed his desire for Danielson to remain involved with AEW even after his in-ring career concludes. Danielson has been a key figure in AEW’s growth, and his contributions outside the ring could continue to shape the promotion’s future.
