Sting retired from in-ring competition, doing so with Darby Allin by his side. Now, Allin is continuing his journey in the pro wrestling world, with a TNT Title match set for All In against Jack Perry. That match will be a casket match, and as always in wrestling, anything can happen. Looking to the future, Darby Allin has expressed interest in teaming up with Steven Borden, Sting’s son.

Darby Allin says that teaming with Steven Borden would be a full circle moment. Following his appearance at AEW Revolution earlier this year, Steven Borden started training for a wrestling career under the guidance of his father Sting’s protégé, Darby Allin.

In a recent interview with WFFA, Darby spoke about how Steven’s training has been progressing and what it involves.

“He’s doing really good. It’s funny because he’s never had any, like, when it comes to wrestling, he’s never had the itch to be like, I want to be a pro wrestler. So he did that spot in Sting’s Last Match at Revolution where he splashed one of the Young Bucks in the corner. Then he just said, Dad, I want to do this. He’s got a good job. He’s got a wife. He’s got a kid. At 32 or 33, to get that wrestling, like, ugh, I want to do this. Sting never thought his son was going to do that. So it’s like, all right, man. If you’re going to do this, you have to do it right. You have to put everything into it. You’ve got to train your butt off. Because we don’t want to come here and people are like, oh, it was just a handout. Sting’s son just got a handout. He wasn’t really that good in the ring, but he’s Sting’s son, so we’ll give him the pass. No, when he has his first match, I want the people to know, wow, he looks right at home there. He’s not going to miss a step. Because there’s a lot of handouts in wrestling. Sting doesn’t want his son to have a handout. I don’t want his son to have a handout. So we’ve got to do it right. In Darby Allin’s training at my house, I have a ring at my house. It’s a little unconventional. We have a lot of crazy challenges outside the ring that we do where we shoot, have him run around the yard, we shoot him with a paintball gun, try to build the pain tolerance to an all-time high.”

When asked about possibly teaming with Steven once he finishes his training, Darby mentioned that it would be a significant full circle moment.

“I would love to. It’s like a full circle moment. He didn’t have to team with Darby, but he wanted to. And then just to give his son what he gave me, that would be kind of a cool moment.”

Sting retired earlier this year, marking the end of his storied career with a final match alongside Darby Allin and his sons, Steven and Garrett. In a tribute to their father’s legacy, Garrett embodied “Surfer Sting,” while Steven took on the persona of “Wolfpac Sting.” This experience seems to have ignited a passion for wrestling in at least one of Sting’s sons.

Steven Borden is currently training with Darby Allin for a potential career in professional wrestling. Allin, who has a ring in his backyard, shared that Steven’s participation in AEW Revolution sparked his interest in pursuing wrestling seriously. Interestingly, Steven, a former college football player, is so dedicated to his training that he’s been camping in a tent in Allin’s front yard. Although Steven had previously expressed uncertainty about entering the wrestling world, describing his future in the business as “murky,” he admitted that performing for fans gave him an emotional high that he couldn’t ignore.
