CM Punk has been on a roll lately, becoming one of the biggest attractions in the company. The Second City Saint has now shared a significant quality-of-life upgrade for WWE stars.

CM Punk’s return at the Survivor Series Premium Live Event last year truly changed the landscape of WWE and in the several months since then, Punk has proven to be beneficial to the promotion in numerous ways.

While speaking during the Fanatics Fest convention, CM Punk was asked if he was burned out during his previous WWE run. CM Punk reflected on his past, saying that looking back at the past decade, he realizes that he could have done things differently, but at the pace he was working, burnout was inevitable. He mentioned that he had to remove himself from the constant grind because no one else would step in to help. He had been pleading for someone to assist him in stepping away, but people around him insisted he had to keep going.

Punk compared his situation to Steve Austin’s, noting that even though Austin was one of the biggest stars in the history of professional wrestling, his time at the top was relatively brief. This was because Austin was working intensely for a long period. Punk believes that burnout is unavoidable when someone is working at such a high level for too long.

“I mean, I can look back at 10 years ago and tell you I would have, should have, could have, but at the rate I was going, 100% burnout was inevitable. I said that I took myself off the hamster wheel because nobody else would, and I was looking around begging somebody, ‘Please, get me out of here.’ Certain people were around then, and when they were like, ‘Nope, we need you. You’ve got to keep going,’ I was going so hard. Look at a guy like Steve Austin—the biggest star this business has ever produced—and you see that his run on top really wasn’t that long. We can all look at that and say, ‘Gosh, why was it so short?’ It’s because he was going so hard for so long. When he finally got to the top, burnout was inevitable.”

However, he appreciates that there is now a system in place where management understands the need for breaks. With the current talent pool being so strong, wrestlers like Cody Rhodes and himself can take days off when needed. Punk was still amazed that there is a feature on the WWE app to request time off, and he finds it remarkable how things have evolved.

”What I think is now in place is a system in management that understands that. The talent is so rich that if Cody needs a day off, he can take it. If I need a day off, I can take it. I’m still flabbergasted that there’s a tab on the WWE app where you can request days off. It still blows my mind. It’s a Brave New World.”

CM Punk also hit back at those who claimed he was a cancer after his AEW exit. Regardless, under the new management in WWE, things are simply better for every single Superstar and fans couldn’t be happier about that fact.
