AEW delivered another thrilling episode of Collision this week, featuring a high-stakes tag team showdown that had fans on the edge of their seats. The Young Bucks, currently holding the AEW World Tag Team Championship, are in need of new challengers to step up.

On the August 17 episode of AEW Collision, the spotlight was on a highly anticipated #1 Contender’s Match for the AEW World Tag Team Championship, with FTR facing off against The Acclaimed. This match carried significant weight as both teams battled for the chance to challenge the reigning champions, The Young Bucks, for their coveted titles.

Just days earlier, on the August 14 episode of Dynamite, The Acclaimed had a heated clash with The Young Bucks, which ended in a disqualification. Despite their best efforts, The Acclaimed were unable to capture the gold, allowing Matt and Nick Jackson to retain their championship.

This recent confrontation only fueled the intensity of the #1 Contender’s Match, as The Acclaimed sought redemption and another shot at the titles.

Both teams left it all in the ring during Collision, each determined to earn a shot at The Young Bucks’ AEW Tag Team Titles. The match was filled with near falls and stretched through multiple commercial breaks, with the crowd fully invested in the action and appreciating the display of pure tag team wrestling.

Max Caster kicked out after a top rope bulldog, sending the crowd into a frenzy just before another commercial break. The match, which ran for over twenty minutes, saw Dax Harwood and Anthony Bowens slugging it out in the center of the ring before both collapsed, leading to a dramatic attempt to tag in their partners.

The Acclaimed hit Dax with a Shatter Machine, but he managed to kick out. They followed up with double splashes, but Cash Wheeler broke up the pinfall attempt. No matter what moves were executed, there was always someone there to stop the pinfall.

As the match approached its final minute, neither team had secured a pinfall. They resorted to roll-up attempts in a desperate bid to claim victory, but nothing worked. After a series of close calls, the match ended with Dax and Caster in the ring as the bell rang, leaving the #1 Contender’s match without a definitive winner. This outcome suggests we may be in for a triple threat tag team title match at All In. Everything ended in a brawl at the end as Tony Schiavone announced that both The Acclaimed and FTR are going to Wembley Stadium to face the Young Bucks on August 25.
