Darby Allin and Sting have formed a unique bond in AEW, with their student-mentor relationship captivating fans since Sting’s debut in the company. The duo’s partnership reached its pinnacle when they captured the AEW World Tag Team Championships, just before Sting’s retirement at AEW Revolution, where they defeated The Young Bucks in a memorable match.

During a recent interview with WFAA, Darby Allin was asked about his relationship with Sting and whether he has seen him since Sting’s retirement earlier this year. Darby revealed that Sting has indeed been backstage at some of the recent AEW Collision events, despite stepping away from the ring.

“Yeah. He’s been backstage at some of the Collisions,” Allin confirmed. “I keep telling him, you’ve got to come out and we’ve got to go mini-golf battle. You know, like his son, I’m helping train his son right now in wrestling, and I took the son mini-golfing, and I whooped his butt, and then I just asked Sting, does it run in the family to lose to Darby Allin in mini-golf? We’ll find out. He claims that he’s a mini-golf master, but he hasn’t pulled up to the course yet.”

Darby Allin was in Texas promoting AEW’s upcoming All In 2025 event, which is set to take place in the state. As fans eagerly anticipate the event, Darby’s lighthearted banter with Sting adds a fun dynamic to their ongoing connection, even after Sting’s retirement from active competition.
