Jey Uso has been on an absolute tear as a babyface on WWE television and there is no doubt he loves his family, being part of the Bloodline. His family saw a huge loss recently, with the passing of Afa ‘The Wild Samoan’ Anoa’i and it appears Uso paid tribute to Afa after SmackDown this week.
Afa “The Wild Samoan” Anoa’i was a true legend in the world of professional wrestling, who made countless memories for fans and pro wrestlers alike. He recently passed away at the age of 81 and the pro wrestling world shared tributes for the legend.
Following the conclusion of the August 16th episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Jey Uso reflected on the passing of Afa ‘The Wild Samoan’ Anoa’i, expressing his heartfelt emotions. He acknowledged the recent tough losses his family has endured, with Afa’s passing being one of them. Despite the sorrow, Jey Uso found solace in being in the ring, which brought joy to his family and the performers who participated. He gave gratitude to the fans and specifically thanked Damian Priest for his support during this difficult time.
”Bottom of my heart though, we had some tough losses in my family. Tonight was one of them, you know. Afa passed away. Being in the middle of this ring, Uce, still brings joy to each of my family members that you saw perform tonight. We needed this night, we needed you guys tonight. So, from my family, thank you, thank you all of you. For sure Damian Priest, thank you Uce.”
Roman Reigns also released a statement on Afa Anoa’is passing. Our thoughts are with the entire Anoa’i Family during this difficult time. Afa was a remarkable man who paved the way for many who followed in his footsteps. Though he is no longer with us, his legacy will never be forgotten.
