Under Triple H’s leadership, WWE’s environment has seen significant evolution, with minimal reported conflicts among locker room members. However, this wasn’t always the case. In fact, a former WWE star once threatened Triple H with a trident.
Paul London was one of the youngest and brightest stars on the WWE roster, who joined Vince McMahon’s company back in 2003. He proved to be a talented star but was eventually released a few years later.
While speaking on Cafe De Renee, Paul London talked about his feelings toward Triple H, saying he doesn’t hold a grudge and finds it funny that he once threatened Triple H with a trident. Although he and Triple H never had a real argument, there was always an awkwardness between them. London said he never hated Triple H; it takes a lot for him to hate anyone. He still disagrees with some of the business decisions made, which he thinks were poor, though he knows he might be biased.
“Yeah, I do not hold a grudge. To me, it’s funny to think back that I had threatened Triple H with a trident. I had brought a trident to TV one time and prodded it at Triple H, saying, ‘Come on,’ in front of everybody before the doors opened. Like an actual trident like a metal trident you impale somebody.
It’s funny to me that he and I never got into an argument, but there was always this weird dance with us socially. Do I hate the guy? I never hated him. It takes a lot for me to hate anybody. Do I disagree with things that went down? I still do. I think they were bad business decisions, and of course, I’m going to seem biased, but I think a lot of people would agree with me.”
London recalled a time when a fan gave him a picture of Triple H as Terra Ryzing and asked him to deliver it. London thought it was funny and showed it around the locker room before handing it over. He also mentioned an incident where he threw punches at Triple H but later claimed he was just kicking. London speculated that such events might be why he didn’t achieve more success.
London said that if given new opportunities, like becoming a trampoline specialist at the performance center, he wouldn’t let past issues with Triple H affect his decision. He’s open to new chances and will handle situations as best as he can. If he ever felt uncomfortable with something or someone, he would choose not to be involved. He also noted that there’s one person he wouldn’t want to work with, but he doesn’t care much about what that person is doing now.
”It’s like the time when the lady handed me a picture of him as Terra Ryzing, and she was like, ‘Can you give this to Paul?’ I was like, ‘Yes, I can,’ and I went into the locker room and showed everybody. He was like, ‘Alright, London, let’s see it.’ I was like, ‘Oh, there you are. I’ve been meaning to give this to you.’ And then, when I threw the punches at his face and said I was just kicking it, nothing happened. Who knows, maybe these are the reasons I just never won anything. Who knows, man.
But none of that is stuff that, if they were to come asking me, ‘So we heard you think we need trampolines in the performance center. Would you like to be our trampoline specialist?’ It’s nothing where I would think, ‘Well, is Hunter still there?’ No, I welcome fresh new opportunities regardless. I try to navigate through it as best I can, as we all do. And if it ever got to a point where there was something or somebody that I felt I didn’t want to be associated with, then I just wouldn’t do it. But that’s not the case there. The one person I wouldn’t have wanted anything to do with is probably playing with his own [expletive] right now. I don’t really know what he’s doing, but who gives a [expletive], right? But he’s not there, so yeah, never say never, never say never.”
Last year, Paul London was spotted throwing trash during an indie event. Regardless, we will have to wait and see if London will make his return to WWE television as he clearly holds no grudge against Triple H.
