CM Punk’s return at the Survivor Series Premium Live Event has truly benefited the company in a massive way and the results speak for themselves. He also has a lot of love for NXT and he has now addressed possibly running NXT after his in-ring return.

CM Punk has appeared backstage on NXT for quite a few months since returning to WWE last year and he was also part of last year’s NXT Deadline Premium Live Event. Reports have also suggested that CM Punk could consider an NXT leadership role in the future.

While speaking during Fanatics Fest, CM Punk was asked whether he would like to take over Shawn Michaels’ role and run NXT once Punk retires from in-ring competition. CM Punk said he’s interested in working under Shawn Michaels. He clarified that it’s not about wanting Shawn to leave so he can take over, but rather about learning from Shawn and understanding how he operates.

Punk mentioned that NXT is largely left to Shawn’s management because Triple H trusts him. He also noted the importance of understanding both the NXT and main roster systems, emphasizing that it would be beneficial for him to learn from everyone involved.

”Baby steps. I would love to work underneath Shawn at some point. It’s not like I want Shawn to go away and I’m just here to take over. I want to learn from him and see how he operates and sees how he does things. NXT is sort of left alone, Triple H trusts Shawn. From NXT to main roster, I think it’s good to know there’s both systems and it’s good that I can learn everybody.”

CM Punk also volunteered to be part of NXT’s CW Network debut this year. Regardless, we will have to wait and see when he will end up working with Shawn Michaels and learn the ropes, as he is clearly interested in that role as well.
