It’s Saturday night and you know what that means! AEW Collision will go down tonight, and Ringside News has got you covered with live play-by-play results coverage for the August 17, 2024 episode.

AEW Collision Results (8/17/2024):

The show opens up with Tony Schiavone and Nigel McGuinness welcoming us. We then get the entrances of the first match of the night, which is a Singles Match.

Singles Match: Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. vs. The Outcasts’ Harley Cameron

The match starts off with both women having a back-and-forth early on before Harley Cameron kicks Britt Baker. Cameron then hits Baker with a lariat and gets a two-count. Cameron then continues her offense and gets another near fall. Baker then tries to make her comeback and hits some big forearm strikes. Baker then hits Cameron with a pump kick and a swinging neckbreaker for a two-count. Baker then gets her sock out, but Cameron knocks her down. Cameron then gets a two-count on Baker after hitting her with a flying knee. Baker then hits Cameron with a kick, but Cameron responds with an enziguiri. Baker then hits a slingblade on Cameron and follows it up with a stomp for the win.

The winner of the Singles Match, Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D.!

After the match, AEW TBS Champion and NJPW Strong Women’s Champion “The CEO” Mercedes Moné and “The Brickhouse” Kamille make their way down to the ring. Baker takes a kendo stick and tries to hit Kamille with it, but Kamille breaks it in half. Kamille then destroys Baker before the heels stand tall over a fallen Baker to end the segment.

We then get a video package recapping the press conference that was held to announce the AEW All In 2025 PPV for July 12th in Arlington at Globe Life Field and Arlington Mayor Jim Ross was shown seated in the crowd.

We then see a number of highlights from the ROH television show involving Matt Taven, Mike Bennett, Dustin Rhodes and Sammy Guevara and we get the entrances of the next match of the night, which is a ROH World Tag Team Championship Match.

ROH World Tag Team Championship Match: The Undisputed Kingdom (Matt Taven and Mike Bennett) (c) vs. ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Champion “The Natural” Dustin Rhodes and Sammy Guevara

The match starts off with Dustin Rhodes and Mike Bennett. Both men exchange kicks and strikes before Matt Taven is tagged in. Dustin then takes the fight to both Bennett and Taven, then tags in Sammy Guevara. Guevara then hits a crossbody and takes both members of the opposing team down with tope suicidas. Dustin and Guevara are in control and get a two-count over Taven. Guevara then battles Bennett on the outside, but Taven clears him out. After some shenanigans, Guevara is down and is being isolated by the ROH World Tag Team Champions. Guevara is now on the receiving end of a beatdown and Bennett gets a one-count after hitting a sliding dropkick. Bennett then drops Guevara on the mat, but Guevara counters Taven. Rhodes is tagged in and he starts unloading on the Undisputed Kingdom. Rhodes then hits a Canadian Destroyer on Taven. Rhodes then causes a misdirection between the United Kingdom and hits the Shattered Dreams on Taven, then follows it up with the Cross Rhodes. Dustin then goes for the pin, but Bennett breaks it up. Bennett then takes out Guevara and Rhodes hits Bennett with the Cross Rhodes.

Roderick Strong and The Beast Mortos make their way down to the ring. Taven then gets a near fall on Rhodes. Ross Von Erich and Marshall Von Erich then make their way down to the ring and put Strong and Mortos in Iron Claws. Brian Cage, Toa Liona and Bishop Kaun then make their way down to the ring and joins the brawl at ringside. Mark Briscoe, Tomohiro Ishii and Orange Cassidy then made their way down to the ring to help the babyfaces. Taven then does an inside cradle on Rhodes for a near fall. Bennett and Taven then goes for a spike piledriver, but Guevara joins Taven on the ropes and hits him with a cutter. Rhodes then hits the backdrop on Bennett. Rhodes then suplexes Bennett and Guevara hits him with a top rope move for the win.

After the match, Dustin Rhodes and Sammy Guevara celebrate their tag team title win.

We then get a video package on the Swerve Strickland vs. Bryan Danielson match for the AEW World Championship at All In. The video was set to Bush’s “Machinehead” and featured predictions from Jim Ross, Kyle Fletcher, Willow Nightingale, Shane Taylor, Roderick Strong, The Outrunners, Renee Paquette, Claudio Castagnoli, Johnny TV, Paul Wight, Lee Moriarty, Dax Harwood, Sonjay Dutt, RJ City, Jerry Lynn and Nigel McGuinness.

We then head to the back, where FTW Champion “The Learning Tree” Chris Jericho is being interviewed by Renee Paquette. Paquette mentions that Jericho will face Tommy Billington. Jericho says HOOK is stupid for wanting to face him at All In with one eye. Jericho then says HOOK will be banned from the Jericho Vortex forever. Jericho then says Billington is entitled. Jericho then says he wanted a warmup match for HOOK. Jericho then says he knew Tommy’s uncle and he doesn’t like Tommy because he wasn’t trained properly. Jericho then boasts that he is a modern day Stu Hart. Jericho then says he will teach Billington lessons in violence in front of his UK fans. Jericho then says the Dynamite Kid will be “Dynamite Done.”

We then get the entrances of the next match of the night, which is a Singles Match.

Singles Match: Hologram vs. S.A.P.’s Angelico

The match starts off with both men locking up. Angelico then tries to ground Hologram, but Hologram fights off. Hologram then sends Angelico from the rope before hitting him with a dive to the outside. Angelico then grounds Hologram and gains the upperhand. Angelico then puts Hologram in a chin lock and gets a one-count. Angelico then stomps on Hologram. Hologram then fights back with strikes to Angelico’s mid-section. Hologram then hits Angelico with an enziguiri and follows it up with a hurricanrana. Angelico then catches Hologram, but Hologram hits a DDT on Angelico for a two-count. Hologram then goes for a 450-splash, but Angelico nails him. Angelico then hits Hologram with a side suplex and gets a two-count. Both men then exchange some near falls. Hologram then gets the better of the near fall exchange with a leg-trap crucifix pin and picks up the win over Angelico.

We then get a video package on the Tiger Driver 91. Excalibur narrates the video and speaks about how it originated with Mitsuharu Misawa. Will Ospreay then speaks about the danger of the move because the opponent is defenseless. Ospreay says he doesn’t want to use the move and then ends the interview.

AEW TNT Champion “The Scapegoat” Jack Perry makes his way down to the ring for the next match of the night and his opponent is already inside the ring.

Singles Match: AEW TNT Champion “The Scapegoat” Jack Perry vs. Danny Orion

The match starts off with Perry unloading on Orion and hitting him with a lariat. Perry then hits Orion with the running knee for the win.

After the match, Perry pulls a few items out from underneath the ring. Perry places a bodybag in the ring and then spray paints half of Orion’s face (similar to Darby Allin). Perry then places Orion inside the body bag, which had Darby’s name painted on top of it. Perry then spits on the TNT Title belt and puts it inside the bag with Orion. Perry then unveils a darker looking new TNT Title belt.

We then see highlights of House of Black, the Bang Bang Gang and The Patriarchy’s history. We then get a video from the House of Black (Malakai Black, Brody King and Buddy Matthews) talking about Christian Cage screwing them over followed by the Bang Bang Gang (Juice Robinson, Austin Gunn and Colten Gunn) doing the same.

Christopher Daniels is then shown watching the video backstage and then speaks directly into the camera. Daniels announces that The Patriarchy will defend the titles at All In in a 4-Way match. Daniels then says the fourth team will be determined at the Collision show in Cardiff. Daniels then says the four teams will meet in a London Ladders Match at All In for the AEW Trios Titles.

We then get the entrances of the next match of the night, which is a Singles Match.

Singles Match: Blackpool Combat Club’s Claudio Castagnoli vs. Lio Rush

The match starts off with both men having a back-and-forth early on. Rush then tries to wear Castagnoli down, but Castagnoli powers out. Castagnoli then hits a number of backbreakers on Rush. Rush then fights back and almost gets a three-count. Castagnoli then stops Rush’s offense and hits him with a hammer throw in the corner. Castagnoli then stomps Rush before transitioning into a giant swing. The fans then ask for one more giant swing and Castagnoli obliges. Castagnoli then goes for the giant swing for a third time. Castagnoli then charges at Rush, but Rush dodges it. Castagnoli then counters a poisonrana attempt, but gets taken down with heel kicks and Pele kicks. Castagnoli then blocks Rush’s attempted dive to the outside, but gets taken down with a hurricanrana. Castagnoli then sends Rush over the barricades. Castagnoli then hits Rush with a European uppercut for the win.

We then head to the back, where Kris Statlander and Stokely Hathaway are speaking about facing Tomohiro Ishii and Willow Nightingale in a Mixed Tag Team Match at All In. Hathaway says he spoke with Tony Khan and the stipulation of the mixed tag match is that the winners will choose the stipulation for Willow vs. Statlander in a singles match at All Out. Hathaway then says he is The Stone Pitbull around here and does a bark.

We then see Eddie Kingston address the AEW fans and All In. Kingston says he is still messed up and he is still a long way away from a return. Kingston then puts his focus on Bryan Danielson. Kingston asks what version of Bryan Danielson has been appearing on Dynamite lately. Kingston then says the Danielson he is seeing now is disrespectful to the sport and will get beat at All In. Kingston then asks Danielson why he was doing the match if this isn’t who he is. Kingston then asks if Danielson will write his last love song to pro wrestling or if he will just go in and lose because he doesn’t have it anymore. Kingston then says Danielson needs to figure it out because if he doesn’t, then what is the point if he will just lose at All In.

“The Glamour” Mariah May then makes her way down to the ring for the next match of the night and her opponent is already in the ring.

Singles Match: “The Glamour” Mariah May vs. Londyn Dior

The match starts off with May quickly hitting a hip attack on Dior and following it up with a Storm Zero for the win.

After the match, Toni Storm’s new film plays. Storm says she told the doctor she is depressed and she doesn’t know how she will go on. Storm then removes the black suit she has been wearing and speaks about how she will be the grandest Toni Storm of them all. Storm then says the River Thames will run red with May’s blood. Storm then tells May that Wembley is waiting. Storm then says let’s give them a show. May was then shown seething after she watched the film. May picks up the high heel shoe and hit Dior with it three times.

Commentary then hypes up the main event while video footage of FTR is shown.

The Acclaimed (Anthony Bowens and Max Caster) and “Daddy Ass” Billy Gunn are then shown standing backstage. Caster raps about FTR while Bowens and Gunn stands by. Gunn and Caster then chimes in at the end.

We then get the entrances of the main event, which is an AEW World Tag Team Championship #1 Contender’s Match for All In.

AEW World Tag Team Championship #1 Contender’s Match for All In: FTR (Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood) vs. The Acclaimed (Anthony Bowens and Max Caster)

The match starts off with Dax Harwood and Anthony Bowens. Harwood hits a shoulder tackle on Bowens. Cash Wheeler and Max Caster are then tagged in. Wheeler then takes Caster down and does the scissoring pose. Wheeler then grounds Caster before Bowens is tagged in. Harwood is tagged in as well. Bowens then puts a side headlock on Harwood, but Harwood escapes and hits Bowens with some chops in the corner. The Acclaimed ten make their comeback with back body drops and sends FTR out of the ring. Caster then fights off both members of FTR before being taken down on the floor. Wheeler then chops Caster at ringside. Caster then fights back, but just for a brief moment. FTR then double team Caster and have him isolated from his partner. Wheeler chokes then Caster on the ropes and Harwood gets a cheap shot in behind the referee’s back. Caster then starts his comeback and tags in Bowens. Bowens then unloads on FTR and hits Harwood with a running knee for a two-count.

Bowens then kicks Harwood, but the Harwood responds with German suplexes. Wheeler is tagged in and he exchanges quick rollups with Bowens. Caster then takes Wheeler and Harwood down. Caster then hits a superplex on Wheeler before The Acclaimed double team Wheeler for a two-count. Harwood is then tagged in, but gets sent out right away. Wheeler then hits a release powerslam on Bowens before Harwood gets a two-count on Caster with a giant bulldog. After some back-and-forth, Bowens is tagged in and he hits a double axe-handle on Harwood. Bowens then wears down Harwood in the middle of the ring. Harwood then puts Bowens in a sleeper. Both men then exchange strikes before Harwood hits Bowens with a DDT. Wheeler is tagged in and he hits a big lariat on Bowens. Wheeler then hits some chops and strikes before following it up with a rising European uppercut. Wheeler then hits some short-arm lariats on Caster. Caster then fights back and hits a powerbomb for a two-count. FTR then look to double team Bowens, but Wheeler is sent to the floor. Harwood then almost gets the win before he and Caster falls down on the mat. Bowens is tagged in and he goes for a dragon screw, but Harwood counters it with a sharpshooter. Caster also gets put in a sharpshooter. Bowens then hits a famouser and almost gets the three-count. The referee then starts the 10-count. Wheeler then hits Caster with a DDT on the apron.

FTR then double teams Bowens and hits him with a superplex/frog splash combo before Wheeler takes Caster out with a dive at ringside. Harwood and Bowens then slap each other. The Acclaimed then counters a Shatter Machine and hits one of their own for a two-count. The Acclaimed then fails to get the three-count after an Arrival/Mic Drop combo. After some more back-and-forth, Caster kicks out of a Shatter Machine from FTR and all four men are down. Caster and Harwood then battle in the ring, but the bell sounds and the 30-minute time limit is over.

The AEW World Tag Team Championship #1 Contender’s Match for All In ends in a 30-minute time limit draw!

After the match, the fans boo and chants for five more minutes. Aura then announces the draw and the fans boo even more. Wheeler then asks the referee what about Wembley. Billy Gunn then tries to play peacemaker between the two teams until Harwood punches him. Both teams then had a huge brawl until security and wrestlers made their way down to the ring to separate them. Tony Schiavone then reveals that Tony Khan informed him both teams will challenge The Young Bucks in a 3-Way Match for the AEW World Tag Team Titles at All In. Both teams then continues to have a pull apart brawl with Gunn also getting involved for The Acclaimed and the show comes to a close.
