WWE has many operations in motion, and as a billion-dollar company, they are careful to avoid lawsuits. However, this hasn’t stopped them from allegedly tampering with AEW contracts, a concern that Tony Khan believes is ongoing.
Tony Khan has previously addressed the issue of contract tampering by WWE. He is paying close attention to things, but he asserts that WWE hasn’t stopped the practice.
During an appearance on The Dan LeBatard Show, Tony Khan was asked if the situation had improved since his earlier comments. He believes that the practice of WWE meddling with AEW stars is still going on.
“I don’t think that it has. It’s still happening. I will reserve all rights when it comes to that, but I don’t think that it’s stopped. I’ll leave it at that.”
MJF has also hinted that WWE might still be involved in contract tampering. While this is not something to be taken lightly, Tony Khan clearly believes the practice continues.
With speculation around Ricky Starks potentially moving to WWE and rumors that Pentagon and Fenix may join WWE once their AEW contracts end, it’s understandable why Tony Khan might hold this belief. Ethan Page also transitioned to WWE shortly after his AEW contract expired and is now the NXT Champion.
Whether Tony Khan will take legal action against WWE remains to be seen. Such a lawsuit could reveal much about the situation if he decides to escalate it. In the meantime, Khan has made his position clear.
