TNA Wrestling delivered Slammiversary, and it was quite a show. Ringside News provided full coverage, and the level of interest was noticeable. Now, with the final numbers in, it’s clear that TNA Wrestling is making the right moves.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that the update on Slammiversary’s pay-per-view numbers is 6,500 buys on television, with an estimated total of about 21,000. This would rank among TNA’s biggest numbers since the Spike TV days.

The company has undergone many changes since its inception. It started as TNA Wrestling, rebranded as Impact, briefly became Global Force Wrestling, and then returned to Impact Wrestling. Now, they’ve come full circle, reestablishing themselves as TNA Wrestling, adding another chapter to the company’s unpredictable history.

At Slammiversary, “Broken” Matt Hardy secured a victory over JDC by pinfall to kick off the show. In a tag team match for the TNA World Tag Team Championship, ABC defeated The System to claim the titles. Mike Santana emerged victorious over Jake Something in a singles match. Then the newly re-formed Rascalz triumphed over No Quarter Catch Crew in a six-man TNA/WWE NXT tag team match.

PCO defeated A.J. Francis in a Montreal Street Fight, winning both the TNA Digital Media Championship and the Canadian International Heavyweight Championship. Jordynne Grace successfully defended her TNA Knockouts World Championship against Ash by Elegance and then Mike Bailey captured the TNA X Division Championship by defeating Mustafa Ali. In the main event, Nic Nemeth defeated Moose, Josh Alexander, Steve Maclin, Frankie Kazarian, and Joe Hendry in a six-way elimination match to win the TNA World Championship.

Currently, WWE’s NXT brand and TNA Wrestling have a productive partnership, with talent exchanges taking place. Triple H has discussed their goals with this deal, and it seems both sides are benefiting from the extra exposure, which is a win for everyone involved.
