Multiple Matches Announced for 8/23 WWE SmackDown

The August 16 edition of Friday Night SmackDown, emanating from the KIA Center in Orlando, Florida, was an enthralling night of action and memorable moments, setting the tone for the festivities for next week.

The brewing rivalry between Santos Escobar and the reigning WWE United States Champion, LA Knight will reach an important turn as both men collide next week with Knight’s star-spangled prize on the line.

In the women’s division, Queen Nia Jax’s Championship celebration was ruined by an attack by Michin, citing their multiple encounters for weeks. Next week on SmackDown, Michin and Nia will collide in a one-on-one match with Jax’s WWE Women’s Championship at stake.

Elsewhere, a six-woman tag team match was also announced pitting the squad of Jade Cargill, Bianca Belair and Naomi against current WWE Women’s tag team champions, Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn and their cohort, Blair Davenport.

Furthermore, a highly explosive tag team match with No.1 contender implications saw The Street Profits defeat DIY. With their victory, they will now face The Bloodline for the WWE tag team championships.
