Senior Writer and Producer for WWE Jennifer Pepperman parted ways with the company earlier this year and is now part of AEW. She has worked there long enough to know how the company functions and now, Pepperman stated that she believes every voice is heard creatively in AEW.
Jennifer Pepperman, who shares close friendship with former WWE star Mercedes Mone, joined AEW as the Vice President of Content back in February. Fans and wrestlers have often noticed the differences in how WWE and AEW present their shows.
While speaking on AEW’s Unrestricted podcast, Jennifer Pepperman talked about how she’s impressed by AEW’s storytelling during matches. She pointed out that AEW’s show structure is different from WWE’s, and she finds it fascinating.
Pepperman is also amazed by how many pay-per-view matches AEW has and the creative freedom she feels in the company. Pepperman appreciates that AEW values everyone’s creative ideas.
“The structure of the show is very different from how we would structure a show at WWE and I’ve been fascinated by that. The amount of storytelling in a match and the amount of pay-per-view matches that we have on AEW continues to amaze me. I’m also struck by [the fact] that there’s a freeness that really sparks creativity here. I think that’s been a really cool thing. Also, I feel like in AEW, everyone really gets to feel heard creatively and that’s really important.”
AEW has been determined to make several changes to various departments and Jennifer Peperman’s expertise clearly shines in her department. Nonetheless, we’ll have to see if AEW will improve their creative direction to a bigger degree.
