Since their unsettling debut on the June 17 edition of Monday Night Raw, The Wyatt Sicks have been building an aura of mystery and fear throughout WWE. The faction won their in-ring debut on Raw last week and WWE has now been called out for how they booked the in-ring debut.

During the August 5th edition of Monday Night RAW, The Wyatt Sicks faced off against American Made in the main event. The match concluded with Erick Rowan executing a chokeslam on Chad Gable before tagging in Joe Gacy and Dexter Lumis. Gacy then powerbombed Lumis onto Gable, who followed up with a top-rope splash to clinch the victory.

While speaking on this week’s episode of Jim Cornette’s Drive Thru, Cornette described Wyatt Sicks’ in-ring debut as an “indie-level match.” He noted that, apart from Chad Gable, who seemed like the only WWE Superstar in the match, the rest of the performers didn’t quite meet WWE standards. Cornette did praise Dexter Lumis, saying that he was “more memorable” in the match.

Cornette questioned whether the match would have seemed as lackluster if it had not involved the Wyatt gimmick, calling out WWE for booking the match like an indie level match. He compared Chad Gable to a star performing in a small venue, surrounded by competitors who might have been more familiar to family and friends than to broader audiences.

“Am I safe in assuming that if this same exact match happened without the three guys being in the Wyatt gimmick, and it’s just mass hypnosis, this would have been an indie-level match? It looked like Chad Gable was the WWE star doing a third-party booking in a rec center with a bunch of guys in the main event just because they sold the most tickets to their family and friends. I don’t know; did you think it was that bad? I mean, it wasn’t the greatest, but Lumis looks like somebody now. He has long hair; he’s kicking that in, and he’s more memorable.”

He further criticized Joe Gacy, calling him a “pudgy indie guy,” and while he acknowledged the athleticism of The Creed Brothers, Julius and Brutus, Cornette described them as “greener than a pepper tree,” implying they still have a lot to learn. Cornette likened the overall look of the match to “spooky hillbillies,” with Gacy resembling “Uncle Fester,” and noted that the Creed Brothers need more experience to smooth out their performance.

”Remember, we said he was Captain Somnambulist before? Well, Lumis looks like somebody. Rowan’s big, and Gacy is a pudgy indie guy who kind of wandered into this. If you squinted, it was like spooky hillbillies: Uncle Elmer, Hillbilly Jim, and Cousin Jr. He looked more like Uncle Fester to me. The Creeds are great athletes, but they’re greener than a pepper tree, as Frank Spaceman Hickey would say. They’re not smooth yet.”

We will have to wait and see how WWE will continue to book the Wyatt Sicks in the coming weeks, as it is clear that the company is putting a lot of effort into the faction already.
