Randy Orton commands respect not only from wrestling enthusiasts but also from every single wrestler in WWE and beyond, even if some people don’t necessarily like him. Having been at the top of the food chain for many years, Orton has now opened up about his bout with depression during his absence from WWE.
The Apex Predator made his triumphant return to WWE television during the Survivor Series Premium Live Event last year. Prior to that, he was sidelined for 18 months due to a debilitating back injury.
While speaking on Cody Rhodes’ ‘What Do You Wanna Talk About?,’ Randy Orton talked about his love for professional wrestling and noted how his wife tells him how he is always in the wrestling bubble.
Randy Orton opened up about his time away from WWE for 18 months due to injury, sharing that he experienced feelings of depression during that period. While he had his family, including his kids who brought smiles to his face, and his dogs, he still felt like something was missing.
”I don’t have any friends at home. When I was out for 18 months, I went through a bit of depression, I was depressed, I had my family, my kids, I’m smiling when I see my kids, I’m doing stuff, I had dogs but I was missing something.”
The Apex Predator will forever be grateful for his time in WWE and the fact he has a new lease on life after returning from injury. Nonetheless, Orton is now focused on his World Title match against GUNTHER at Bash in Berlin, so we’ll have to see how he will fare in the bout.
