The company’s current American Champion, MJF may or may not be too welcoming for Shane McMahon if he ever makes his way to the company.

Shane McMahon met with to explore potential opportunities, following weeks of speculation about McMahon possibly joining AEW. Former AEW World Champion MJF had some strong words about the idea, suggesting that McMahon stepping into the ring with him would be detrimental to Shane’s mental health.

In an interview with WrestleTalk, MJF was again asked about the rumors surrounding McMahon. He reiterated that McMahon should keep his distance. MJF also took a jab at McMahon, referencing how easily he tore his quad during his match against The Miz at WWE WrestleMania 39.

“Please stay away. For his health. Stay away from me. I thought it was super impressive how easily he tore his quad. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Let’s hope that’s not in every single facet of his life.”

Shane McMahon’s injury occurred just moments into the WrestleMania 39 match. After executing a leapfrog, he attempted to drop down, but his leg gave out, leaving him unable to continue. Snoop Dogg, who was part of the segment, quickly improvised and stepped in for Shane, ultimately defeating The Miz to win the match.

When asked about the viral photo of Tony Khan meeting with Shane McMahon, MJF expressed his hope that McMahon would keep his distance but acknowledged that McMahon’s involvement in AEW could be significant.

“My reaction was, ‘Please stay away from me.’ If he wants to come in, I genuinely think he’s a megastar and that’d be friggin great and huge for the fans and huge for AEW.”

Tony Khan mentioned that he enjoyed his conversation with Shane McMahon. We will have to see what comes from this, but it’s anyone’s guess whether TK can pull Shane-O Mac into AEW.

Surprises and AEW go hand-in-hand, and Tony Khan has teased some big announcements in the pipeline. Only time will tell if Shane McMahon is a part of those announcements, but he is certainly keeping us guessing.
