Mercedes Mone Responds After Gabe Kidd Shoots His Shot in Public Fashion

AEW TBS Champion Mercedes Mone is double champion, also holding the NJPW Strong Women’s Title. This accomplishment led one NJPW star to make a bold request of The CEO, but it quickly stirred up controversy when Lio Rush stepped in to squash Gabe Kidd’s attempt at getting her attention. Gabe Kidd, known for his controversial opinions, including criticisms of NJPW’s current era dominated by WWE and AEW stars as champions, wasn’t deterred from trying to connect with the former Boss.

With Mercedes Mone now single, she’s drawing attention from across the pro wrestling world, and it’s not just for her in-ring prowess. Many fans are shooting their shot at the former Sasha Banks, and Gabe Kidd decided to join in, much to Lio Rush’s displeasure.

Gabe Kidd, the current NJPW Strong Openweight Champion, took to Twitter to make his move, tweeting, “AYYYYO @MercedesVarnado I THINK IT’S IMPORTANT FOR THE IMAGE OF THE NJPW STRONG BRAND WE GET A CHAMPION’S PIC TOGETHER IN DC.”

Mercedes Mone responded to Gabe Kidd by saying, “PIPE DOWN BRUV.” To that, he fired back a reply to say, “NAHHHHHHHHHH YOU SPENT TOO MUCH TIME AROUND OSPREAY IT’S ROTTIN YA BRAIN WITH THAT LINGO. ALLOW ME TO TEACH YOU WHAT A REAL ENGLISH GENTLEMAN LOOKS LIKE, CHAMP”

Lio Rush also saw the tweet and felt compelled to respond, writing, “Tell me how you gonna get that picture if you picking up your teeth?”

Gabe Kidd didn’t appreciate the former WWE Superstar’s interference and shot back, “SHUT UP P*SSY I’M TRYNA SPIT GAME.” Rush simply replied, “Sound like you spittin sh*t!”

Whether Mercedes Mone and Gabe Kidd will ever take that championship selfie remains to be seen. Only time will tell if a friendship develops from this, but Lio Rush certainly did his best to put an early stop to the idea.
