Dominik Mysterio wasn’t really liked when he was a plain babyface when he teamed up with his father Rey Mysterio. Things changed for Domink Mysterio after he turned heel and fans feel he is more like Eddie Guerrero than Rey Mysterio now. With that said, Mysterio has now shared the shocking original plan for the infamous ‘Custody of Dominik Ladder Match’ at SummerSlam 2005.

Dominik Mysterio appeared on WWE in 2005 during a heated storyline featuring Rey Mysterio and Eddie Guerrero. The two fought over the custody of Dominik. Eddie was determined to prove that he was Dominik’s father, and this led to the now-iconic ladder match between himself and Rey Mysterio at SummerSlam 2005.

While speaking on the Impaulsive podcast, Dominik Mysterio revealed that there were originally more extreme plans for him during a match. He revealed that the initial idea was for him to be hung up, not just in a cage, but actually suspended by a harness.

“Did you hear what they originally wanted to do with me?

“They wanted to hang me from a cage. Not even from a cage, they wanted to just actually hang me. Like on a waist thing and just like have me dangle there.”

Dominik had repeatedly brought up Eddie Guerrero during his current run as a heel and even previously told Rey Mysterio that he wished Eddie was his real father. Regardless, Dominik Mysterio is arguably the biggest heel in WWE right now and that is something Eddie Guerrero would have been proud of.

What’s your opinion on the original plans for the Custody of Dominik ladder match? Are you glad they never went through with such plans? Sound off in the comments section below!
