Dakota Kai has been a standout performer on WWE television, particularly as a member of the Damage CTRL faction, but injuries have plagued her career as she is currently out of action due to injury and now WWE’s internal reaction to Kai’s injury has been revealed.
During the August 5th edition of Monday Night RAW, Kai was scheduled to face Sonya Deville. However, before the match could take place, Sonya Deville, Shayna Baszler, and Zoey Stark launched a surprise attack on Damage CTRL. During the melee, Kai was seen clutching her leg and this made people fear that Kai might have been legitimately injured.
That fear was confirmed when it was announced that Dakota Kai would be sidelined for eight to ten weeks due to a torn meniscus. She is scheduled to undergo surgery to repair the injury.
According to PWInsider, Dakota Kai has garnered considerable sympathy backstage at WWE, where she is well-liked and respected. While there isn’t a set return date for her, there’s optimism that she’ll be back on TV as WWE starts its buildup to Survivor Series on November 30.
This injury comes just a few months after Kai made her return to the ring in March 2024, following a 10-month hiatus due to an ACL tear she sustained in May 2023. Regardless, we hope Kai will make her in-ring return as soon as possible and not suffer additional injuries.
