AEW has experienced significant growth over its four-year history and continues to make headlines with its upcoming events. AEW All In is set to be the company’s largest event to date. Tony Khan has now explained why post-AEW All In pay-per-views are scheduled on Saturdays.

Originally scheduled for the weekend before Labor Day, All Elite Wrestling has moved the All Out pay-per-view to the weekend following Labor Day, now set for Saturday, September 7

Generally, AEW holds a lot of their pay-per-views on Sundays but after All In, all of their pay-per-view events take place on Saturdays instead and fans have wondered why that’s the case.

While speaking to TV Insider, Tony Khan responded to a question about the decision to schedule more Saturday pay-per-view shows following All In. He explained that he typically schedules pay-per-views on Sundays outside of the NFL season. However, as the NFL season begins, he shifts more events to Saturdays to avoid competing with the crowded football schedule.

This year, many pay-per-views have been held on Sundays, but in the third and fourth quarters of the year, more events will be scheduled on Saturdays to accommodate the NFL’s prominence. Khan acknowledged the NFL’s status as a leading media enterprise, which influences this scheduling choice.

”I tend to do Sunday pay-per-views outside of the NFL season. Then as we get into NFL season more of the events are on Saturdays where it’s less of a crowded football schedule. We’ve done a lot of pay-per-views on Sundays this year. Then Q3 and Q4 you’ll see more primarily on Saturdays as more attention is tuned into NFL football. And rightfully so because it is the greatest product and media enterprise in the world.”

AEW All In will take place on August 25 and the hype for the pay-per-view is at an all-time high. With the company focusing on their latest run of events starting with All In, we’ll have to see how the company will end 2024.
