AEW has undoubtedly embarked on a remarkable journey since its inception in 2019, characterized by substantial growth and success. AEW has faced challenges and experienced gradual decline over the past year as well but now MJF has hit back at AEW detractors who claim everything is falling apart.

AEW President Tony Khan, known for his wrestling passion, faced a Twitter controversy impacting his reputation earlier this year. There has been a lot of online discourse surrounding AEW as well, with many people with bad faith actively wanting AEW’s demise and claim the company is doomed.

While speaking to WrestleTalk, MJF directly responded to people who only think everything is going badly in AEW. MJF mentioned that AEW has been in a rebuilding phase, but over the past month or so, the company has returned to its previous high standard. He feels that the excitement and quality of the product are back. The promotion is featuring great matches and rivalries, such as the ones between himself and Will Ospreay, Swerve Strickland and Bryan Danielson, Mercedes Mone and Britt Baker, and Chris Jericho and Hook.

Additionally, the tag team scene with FTR, the Young Bucks, and The Acclaimed is thriving. He also pointed out the strong women’s rivalry between Toni Storm and Mariah May as one of the best in recent times. Despite people on Twitter saying the sky is falling, MJF believes the show has genuinely improved.

“I feel AEW has been in a rebuilding phase, but over the past month or month and a half, I think it’s safe to say we’ve returned to form. We’re no longer just trying to ‘restore the feeling’; the feeling is back. We’re having incredible matches and rivalries. You have me and Will Ospreay, Swerve Strickland and Bryan Danielson, Mercedes Mone and Britt Baker, Chris Jericho and Hook, and FTR, the Young Bucks, and The Acclaimed all in the mix. Toni Storm and Mariah May have one of the best women’s rivalries I’ve seen in the modern era. Right now, we’re on an incredible hot streak. On Twitter, people will tell you the sky is falling, because that’s the job of the detractors, which is to tell you that everything sucks in our show and everything is no bueno. The fact is, I genuinely feel the show has gotten much better.”

Some people believe Tony Khan’s weak leadership skills are the reason for AEW’s current decline, but MJF would argue with that claim. Regardless, MJF is happy with how AEW is right now and that’s all that matters to him.
