Kelani Jordan Shares Who Made the First Move in Relationship with Carmelo Hayes

Carmelo Hayes concluded his tenure in NXT after defeat to Trick Williams and made his way to SmackDown, but Kelani Jordan remains in NXT and has seen great success there. In fact, Jordan has now revealed who took the first step in their relationship.

In case you were not aware, Carmelo Hayes and Kelani Jordan are a real-life couple and one of the most beloved couples in the NXT locker room. The duo always post adorable videos of themselves on TikTok for good measure as well.

While speaking to The Wrestling Classic, Kelani Jordan was asked who made the first move between herself and Carmelo Hayes in their relationship. Jordan revealed it was Hayes who made the first move.

Jordan described an early encounter at the Performance Center, where she was a few months into her training. During their initial meeting, it felt to her like time stood still. They exchanged greetings, with Jordan, who was new, going around and shaking everyone’s hands. Despite their brief interaction, there was an undeniable connection.

Jordan initially felt uncertain about the moment, wondering if it had been significant or if it was just her imagination. She later learned that Hayes had commented to one of their coaches about how beautiful she was, although she wasn’t aware of this at the time. Eventually, Hayes reached out to her, leading to their first date, which was a casual outing for tacos.

“Mr. Carmelo Hayes, so we were at the Performance Center. I was maybe a few months in, and then when we met, we walked by each other and it was almost like—this might sound cheesy, but let it sound cheesy; we’re here for the cheese—it felt like time stood still. We were just shaking hands; I was greeting everyone because I was very new and going around shaking everyone’s hands. But in that moment, it felt like time stood still and we both just stared at each other. Then we walked away, and I was like, ‘Okay, maybe it was me.’ I started getting anxious, thinking, ‘Oh my gosh.’

Anyway, apparently, he told one of our coaches, ‘Wow, that girl is so beautiful,’ but I didn’t know that at the time. Eventually, time passed, and he ended up messaging me, and that was it. We went and got some tacos.”

Carmelo Hayes was also brought to tears by Kelani Jordan’s NXT Women’s North American Championship win. Nonetheless, fans can’t get enough of Hayes and Jordan together and that’s all that matters.
