It’s Tuesday night and you know what that means! WWE NXT will go down tonight, and Ringside News has got you covered with live play-by-play results coverage for the August 13, 2024 episode.

WWE NXT Results (8/13/2024):

The show opens up with a video recapping last week’s NXT The Great American Bash Week 2 special. Vic Joseph and WWE Hall of Famer Booker T then welcomes us to the show.

We then see Sarah Schreiber trying to catch up with Wes Lee. Schreiber asks Lee why he betrayed his brothers. Lee says it was time to take back what’s his. WWE NXT Champion “All Ego” Ethan Page then grabs the mic from Schreiber and makes his way down to the ring to address the WWE Universe.

Ethan Page starts off by saying fans desperately wanted to see Oro Mensah dethrone him as NXT Champion, but he has the skills to back up his nickname of “All Ego”. Page then says the era of “All Ego” will continue and no one will be able to dethrone him including Wes Lee, Trick Williams and Pete Dunne. Joe Hendry’s music then hits and he makes his way down to the ring. Hendry tells Page that he understands why he thinks he’s on top of the NXT roster and says he became the talk of WWE when he won the NXT Championship. Hendry then says that all changed when he arrived on the scene and Page’s ego says one thing while the reality is completely different. Page then tells Hendry to take his victory from last week and go back to TNA Wrestling, then questions why Hendry is still in NXT. Hendry then says like everyone else, his goal is to win the NXT Championship. Page then says everyone believes in Hendry except for himself and he rather believes that Hendry’s song makes him sick to his stomach every time he hears it and he’s in his 14th minute of his 15 minutes of his fame. Page then warns Hendry that if he comes after his NXT Championship, he will prove that Hendry is simply a flash in the pan. Hendry then tells Page that he’s been grinding for ten years and made believers of everyone he’s encountered and when he dethrones Page as champion, he will take the NXT Championship around the world as his song says. Page then jumps out of the ring and looks to head to the back before Wes Lee appears out of nowhere and superkicks Hendry. Lee then leaves Hendry laying.

We then head to the back, where we see Charlie Dempsey sparring with Myles Borne. Wren Sinclair then shows up to wish Dempsey luck in his upcoming title match. Sinclair also talks about how Tavion Heights looks like he’s having fun in Japan wrestling for Pro Wrestling Noah.

The D’Angelo Family then make their way down to the ring for the first match of the night.

We then see NXT General Manager Ava, Mr. Stone and Stevie Turner have a conversation with several women on the NXT roster. Ava explains that a Gauntlet Match will be held next week to determine who challenges Roxanne Perez for the NXT Women’s Championship at NXT No Mercy featuring competitors who have yet to receive a title shot. The first three women randomly selected are Wren Sinclair, Adriana Rizzo and Sol Ruca as Stone and Turner continue arguing with one another about Turner stealing Stone’s idea and taking credit for it.

No Quarter Catch Crew then make their way down to the ring for the first match of the night.

WWE NXT Heritage Cup Championship Match: The D’Angelo Family’s “The Don Of NXT” Tony D’Angelo (c) vs. No Quarter Catch Crew’s Charlie Dempsey

The match starts off with both men taking turns in locking each other in submission holds. Both men then wear each other down and Dempsey puts D’Angelo into a Triangle hold. D’Angelo then powers up to his feet, but Dempsey counters into an armbar. D’Angelo then pins Dempsey to escape as the first round ends. Round two begins and Dempsey hits a shoulder tackle on D’Angelo. Dempsey then pins D’Angelo, but D’Angelo kicks out and gets Dempsey up. D’Angelo then sends Dempsey crashing into the mat and pins him to score a fall. D’Angelo and Dempsey then go back and forth as round three ends.

Wren Sinclair then gets Dempsey hyped up by hitting him with a few strikes as round four begins. D’Angelo then rolls Dempsey up, but Dempsey kicks out and delivers some stomps on D’Angelo in the corner. D’Angelo then nails Dempsey with a clothesline and delivers some right hands on him, then follows it up with a couple of belly-to-belly suplexes and a powerslam. D’Angelo then goes for a pin, but Dempsey kicks out and rolls up D’Angelo. D’Angelo then kicks out and hits a German suplex on Dempsey, but Dempsey sends D’Angelo crashing into the top turnbuckle face first and does a jackknife pin to score a fall. Round five begins and D’Angelo hits a spinebuster on Dempsey. D’Angelo then goes for a pin, but Dempsey kicks out and hits a Northern Lights suplex on D’Angelo. Dempsey goes for a pin, but D’Angelo kicks out and looks to hit a spinebuster. Dempsey then counters it into a cross armbreaker, but D’Angelo counters it into a powerbomb to escape. D’Angelo then places Dempsey on the top rope, then nails Myles Borne when he jumps up on the apron and assists Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo in flying to land on him on the outside. While the referee is distracted, Sinclair trips D’Angelo and Dempsey hits D’Angelo with a Northern Lights suplex to win the match.

We then head to the back, where Lola Vice congratulates WWE NXT Women’s North American Champion Kelani Jordan on her successful title defense last week. Lola and Jordan then sees Tatum Paxley seething over dolls. Lola then approaches Paxley to cheer her up, but Paxley snaps and tells Vice that everything is handed to her. Vice then says she is going to show Paxley that everything wasn’t handed to her.

We then get a Lexis King and Eddy Thorpe video hype package, where Thorpe talks about how important EDM and his heritage is to him, while King continues to hate on EDM.

Eddy Thorpe then makes his way down to the ring for the next match of the night. Lexis King then blindsides Thorpe on the ramp and the next match of the night is underway.

Singles Match: Lexis King vs. Eddy Thorpe

The match starts off with Thorpe delivering some kicks on King’s chest, but King sends Thorpe crashing into the ring post shoulder first and sends his injured hand bouncing off the ring mat. King then hits a chop on Thorpe’s spine, but Thorpe responds with a back body drop and a series of chops. King then sends Thorpe crashing into the middle rope, then delivers some right hands on him. Thorpe then hits a few chops on King, then follows it up with a German suplex and a split legged elbow drop. King then sends Thorpe’s arm crashing into the ring mat, then follows it up with the Coronation for the win.

We then get a video from Trick Williams, who sends a message to “The Bruiserweight” Pete Dunne. Trick talks about how he hasn’t figured Pete Dunne yet, but he will. Williams then talks about fixing past issues like taking care of Carmelo Hayes and then defeating The Mad Dragon to become NXT Champion. Trick then brings up Dunne mentioning how he was mugged on a bus in the past. Trick says he was jumped when he was 18 years old too. Trick then says teammates got jealous of the new freshman rolling up to the point where they threw stones at him inside the car. Trick then talks about following them and poppin’ off. Trick then says it wasn’t the smartest decision, but he figured things out and they all got theirs by the end of the season. Trick then says he isn’t coming for Pete Dunne for advise, but a rematch. Trick then says one way or another, he’ll figure Pete out.

We then head to the back, where Kelly Kincaid is interviewing Pete Dunne. Kincaid asks Dunne if Trick will get the rematch and Dunne refuses. Dunne then says men like Trick like to bitch and moan, while people like him move forward. Dunne then says he’s moving forward to the NXT Championship.

The camera then pans over to Meta-Four’s Lash Legend and Jakara Jackson arguing with Fallon Henley, Jacy Jayne and Jasmyn Nyx as Henley continues to hate on rookies.

Lola Vice then makes her way down to the ring for the next match of the night. Tatum Paxley makes her way down to the ring next and WWE NXT Women’s North American Champion Kelani Jordan joins the commentary desk.

Singles Match: Lola Vice vs. Tatum Paxley

The match starts off with both women taking turns in locking each other in submission holds, but Paxley sends Vice crashing into the corner and hits her with a crossbody on her spine. Vice then hits a bodyslam on Paxley, then follows it up with a Hip Attack and a scissors kick. Vice then goes for a pin, but Paxley kicks out. Paxley then rolls Vice up, but Vice kicks out and Paxley responds with an enzuigiri. Paxley then puts Vice in a Half Boston Crab ss Wendy Choo puts Jordan in a reverse Sleeper on the outside. Paxley then becomes momentarily distracted, but sees Vice coming when she tries to take advantage of the distraction and sends her crashing into the mat with a variation of a Death Valley Driver. Paxley then looks to fly off the top rope, but Vice moves out of the way and hits the 305 on Paxley for the win.

After the match, Vice checks on Paxley and helps her up. Choo then stands over Jordan and holds up the WWE NXT Women’s North American Championship.

We then head to the back and see NXT General Manager Ava, Mr. Stone, Stevie Turner and several members of the NXT women’s division. Jaida Parker, Kendal Grey and Karmen Petrovic are the final three women selected for the NXT Women’s Championship #1 Contenders Gauntlet Match for next week before Petrovic and Brinley Reece find themselves involved in a verbal confrontation with a frustrated Izzi Dame over not being selected.

Wes Lee then makes his way down to the ring to address the WWE NXT Universe.

Wes Lee starts off by saying his betrayal of The Rascalz shocked the world and himself. Lee then says he was sure that he and Zach Wentz would win the WWE NXT Tag Team Championship last week, but Wentz let him down again. Lee then says his anger with Wentz dates back to two years ago when he broke up MSK and everyone questioned if he would be able to become a singles competitor. Lee then says he proved everyone wrong and became the greatest NXT North American Champion of all time, but Wentz and Trey Miguel weren’t there through it all. Lee then says they went on to reunite in TNA Wrestling and the three of them wanted to create a legacy for years to come. Lee then says he created a legacy of his own, then tells Wentz that he is tired of being a caretaker. Lee then says he kept everything together as The Rascalz whether that was driving him around, squashing his beefs or waking him up for flights. Lee then says he’s done doing all that and he can’t have his best friends riding his coattails where he wants to go. Lee then says they only reunited with him for the WWE rub and he knows that he and Wentz will end up having a match. Lee then challenges Wentz to a match at No Mercy and says he’ll show him just that. Lee then says once he beats Wentz, Wentz can go back to TNA while he focuses on becoming NXT Champion. Lee then wishes Wentz all the best in his future endeavors.

Pete Dunne’s music then hits and he makes his way out. Dunne says he’s impressed with Lee because someone in NXT has figured it out, but warns him about getting carried away and says with Trick Williams in his rear view, he’s focused on the NXT Championship. Joe Hendry’s music then hits and he attacks Lee from behind. Hendry sends Lee crashing into Dunne, but Dunne nails him and all three men brawl. Officials then run down to the ring to break them all apart.

We then head to the back, where Kelly Kincaid is interviewing WWE NXT Tag Team Champions Nathan Frazer and Axiom. Frazer says they have been at odds a bit, going after singles gold, but they have conquered their struggles and are on the same page now. Kincaid then hypes up Axiom and Frazer vs. Chase U as the main event later tonight.

An unseen interviewer then tries to interview “The Don Of NXT” Tony D’Angelo about his recent title loss, but he was cut off by WWE NXT North American Champion Oba Femi hyping up his upcoming match against Otis.

Chase U were then shown psyching each other up backstage. Duke Hudson apologizes for being down on Ridge Holland last week and how everything will be okay, just as long as Chase U gets the titles. Riley Osborne then shows support to Ridge. Ridge then talks about being inspired by Thea Hail and how he wants to do her and Chase U proud by bringing gold to the University.

WWE NXT North American Champion Oba Femi then makes his way down to the ring for the next match of the night. Alpha Academy (Otis, Maxxine Dupri and Akira Tozawa) then make their way down to the ring next.

WWE NXT North American Championship Open Challenge Match: Oba Femi (c) vs. Alpha Academy’s Otis

The match starts off with Femi shoving Otis, but Otis returns the favor. Femi then hits a boot on Otis’ midsection and cinches in a side headlock on him, but Otis escapes and sends Femi crashing out of the ring. Otis then hits a Sidewalk Slam on Femi and goes for a pin. Femi then kicks out and hits a chop on Otis from the floor as he stands on the apron. Femi then follows it up with an uppercut that sends Otis crashing into the ring steps, then gets him back in the ring and goes for a pin. Otis then kicks out and Femi hits Otis with a series of elbow drops. Femi then follows it up with a series of running uppercuts on Otis in the corner and pins him, but Otis kicks out once again. Otis then hits a back body drop on Femi, then nails a shoulder on his midsection and charges at him in the corner. Femi then moves out of the way and sends Otis crashing to the outside, then follows him out there and nails Tozawa on the apron. Otis then responds with a splash and sends Femi back inside the ring, then hits a second splash and a back elbow. Femi then delivers some strikes on Tozawa in the corner, then nails him and hits him with a slam. Otis then hits The Caterpillar on Femi and goes for a pin, but Femi kicks out. Otis then climbs to the top and hits a Vader Bomb before going for a second pin. Femi then kicks out once again and Otis delivers some right hands on him in the corner. Femi then pulls Otis down and hits him with a sit-out powerbomb for the win.

We then get a video of Brooks Jensen seemingly talking about Josh Briggs looking out for him over the years. The camera then pans over and we see that Jensen is actually talking about Shawn Spears. Spears then says Jensen’s speech was perfect.

We then head back to the locker room, where Edris Enofé and Malik Blade says they are not liking what Jensen is becoming. Hank Walker and Tank Ledger then shows up and hypes that they are facing Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson next week.

Izzi Dame then makes her way down to the ring for the next match of the night. Brinley Reece then makes her way down to the ring next.

Singles Match: Izzi Dame vs. Brinley Reece

The match starts off with Dame looking to hit an elbow drop on Reece, but Reece avoids it and looks to roll up Dame. Dame then blocks her and charges at her in the corner, but Reece avoids Dame and hits her with a cartwheel clothesline. Dame then responds with a shoulder tackle and a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker, then jams her shoulder into Reece’s midsection and follows it up with a sit-out spinebuster. Dame then goes for a pin, but Reece kicks out. Dame then locks in an over the shoulder submission on Reece, but Reece escapes and hits a knee on Dame’s face. Reece then follows it up with a flying shoulder tackle off the middle rope, then hits a second shoulder tackle and a splash on Dame. Reece then delivers some right hands on Dame before she hits a modified suplex and goes for a pin. Dame then kicks out and Reece gets her up on her shoulders. Dame then escapes and hits a right hand on Reece’s spine. Dame then hits Reece with a big boot and follows it up with a spinning sidewalk slam for the win.

We then head to the back, where NXT General Manager Ava announces that Joe Hendry, Wes Lee and Pete Dunne will face each other in a Triple Threat #1 Contenders Match next week to determine Ethan Page’s challenger for the NXT Championship at No Mercy. Ava also announces a No Mercy Gauntlet to find out Roxanne Perez’s next challenger. Roxanne Perez then shows up and gloats about winning a Gauntlet Match to her getting the women’s title. Perez then says unfortunately no one next week will get close to the title.

Separate shots were then shown of Chase U and Axiom and Frazer as they were walking backstage.

We then see Ashante “Thee” Adonis hitting on random developmental women wrestlers backstage. Ashante then notices that Dion Lennox was reading a book and catching the attention of the shawtys. Ashante then asks Dion what he was reading. Dion says he was reading “it ends with us”. Adonis then says it will end with them in the ring next week.

The lineup of next week’s episode of WWE NXT is then announced.

We then get the entrances of the main event, which is a WWE NXT Tag Team Championship Match.

WWE NXT Tag Team Championship Match: Axiom and Nathan Frazer (c) vs. Chase U (Andre Chase and Ridge Holland)

The match starts off with Andre Chase and Axiom. Axiom hits a dropkick on Chase, then tags in Frazer. Frazer then rolls up Chase, but Chase kicks out. Holland then tags in and hits a shoulder tackle on Frazer, then tags in Axiom. Holland is then sent crashing to the outside, then hits a suplex with Chase. Frazer and Axiom then fly out of the ring to land on Holland and Chase. Frazer and Chase then nail each other with clotheslines. Holland and Axiom then tag in and Holland takes Axiom down with a clothesline. Holland then sends Axiom crashing into the mat, but Axiom responds with an enzuigiri and tags in Frazer. Axiom then flies off the middle rope and Frazer follows it up with a 450 Splash. Frazer then goes for a pin, but Holland kicks out.

Axiom then tags back in and delivers some kicks on Holland. Chase then tags in and Holland gets Axiom on his shoulder. Chase then hits a double stomp off the top rope and goes for a pin, but Frazer kicks out and flies over the top rope to land on Holland. Chase then hits Axiom with a boot, but Axiom responds with an enzuigiri. Frazer then tags in and locks in a Sleeper on Frazer. Axiom then looks to hit a kick on Holland, but Holland moves out of the way. Frazer then hits a tope suicida on Holland on the outside. Frazer then hits a superplex on Chase back in the ring, then follows it up with a Brainbuster and a kick on him. Chase and Holland then double team on Frazer and pin him, but Frazer kicks out. Frazer then hits Holland with an enzuigiri and tags in Axiom. Axiom and Frazer then place Holland on the top rope and Axiom hits a Spanish Fly on Holland. Frazer then looks to fly, but Chase pushes him off and sends him crashing into the announce desk. Holland then turns Axiom inside out with a clothesline, then follows it up with a cradle DDT for the win.

The winners and new WWE NXT Tag Team Champions, Chase U (Andre Chase and Ridge Holland)!

After the match, several Chase U members join Chase, Holland, Hudson, Osborne and Hail in the ring to celebrate as Chase and Hollands stands tall and the show comes to a close.
