The wrestling world is abuzz following a last-minute change to a scheduled AEW match, with the real reason behind the shift now coming to light.

On the August 10 edition of AEW Collision, Top Flight issued a challenge to MxM Collection, setting up an exciting match for the August 17 episode. However, in a surprising turn of events, it was later announced via social media that the match had been rescheduled for the August 16 edition of AEW Rampage instead.

The announcement, made through a segment between the two duos, humorously cited “mercury in retrograde” as the reason for the change. But fans quickly learned there was a more practical explanation behind the switch.

According to a post from Luchablog, the real reason for the reschedule is that Mansoor, a member of MxM Collection, is slated to compete for CMLL in Mexico on Saturday, August 17. The post reads:

“Someone called CMLL and found out they also booked Mansoor on Saturday.”

As a result, AEW moved the match to the August 16 edition of Rampage, which will be taped following the live broadcast of the August 14 AEW Dynamite in Norfolk, Virginia.

This adjustment ensures that Mansoor can fulfill his commitments to both AEW and CMLL without any conflict, keeping fans of both promotions happy.

For those eagerly anticipating the showdown between Top Flight and MxM Collection, the match will now take place a day earlier, adding to the already packed lineup for AEW Rampage on August 16.

What do you think about AEW’s decision to reschedule the match between Top Flight and MxM Collection? How do you feel this could impact the chemistry and momentum for both teams, given the tight schedules? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
